    I just got a Western Digital WD1600BEVE 160GB 2.5" Hard Drive IDE 5400rpm 8MB Cache from eBuyer.

Opened up my 600, plugged it in.

Put the 600 back together, switched on.

Drive was recognised in the hardware settings, hardisk menu. Use 'specific settings' to format the drive and it was ready to go.

Note to enable timeshifting properly you need to go into the system settings, recording and playing and enable it as it isn't on by default in the PLi Jade images...

its come cabless so i'll need to buy an IDE cable and find out were the power supply for the HD goes ( cough , links to leads would be handy cheap as poss please ) .

I didn't plug a SATA drive in, I just gave you the wrong link! Sorry. Seems the non SATA 160GB WD drive has disappeared from the site, they now just list the 120GB and 250GB versions.

I didn't use any power supply, it seems to run an IDE drive just fine off the IDE cable already in the 600 leaving the pins for power free.....

I guess this cable would do the trick:

I didn't realise some came without a cable in them....
