Default VW Polo 2019 Multifunctional Steering Coding

    Hi Guys,

Got a 2019 VW Polo came with a standard steering wheel with no buttons. Have brought a steering wheel with buttons (Multifunctional Steering wheel).
Had to also buy a wiring Harness for airbag as the original one has no connection for Steering wheel buttons.

Fitted it all in, with the original driver airbag. Buttons don't light up and don't work.

For reference I only changed Steering wheel and wiring loom for airbag.

Can anybody tell me why its not working, do I need to change another module or is there any special coding that needs doing.

We have access to VCDS and ODIS (with Geko)

    Please help

    Hello.
with the vcds you will have to do the long encoding in the command device of the direction column.

Do you have gw/bcm high? On polo 6c you need this for the lin bus wire. Contols the right side of the sw. Linbus from bcm to mfsw.

On a 2015 polo you need to move several wires. Also you need to get the non cc levers. From the lever wireing loom wireing you have to remove the wire for the CC . This wire goes to mfsw and controls the CC. Control wire for CC comes from ECU and goes to MFSW.
The wires in the airbag you already have..

at last you need 12v from (easiest place is) light switch.(interieur lighting)

Next you need to do some coding to tell the ecu that the horn is now going through lin bus.

The cruise control buttons are on the indicator handle.
You need to retrofit a set without cc buttons.

On wiper handle you have the cockpit control.. This wil be controlled by mfsw too.
