I would like to help you but you need to be clear with where the issue lies.
What do you mean you "can not write to it" ?
Is the transponder still locked for writing or can you not program the key to the car with an external programmer ? If it is the former, then KD did not unlock it properly, but if it is the later then you can try to program it via the coil on the side of the steering wheel. If that fails as well then it was not properly unlocked. I had bad experiences with the KDX2 unlocking function.
I am asking just to cross all Ts but did you unlock the FEM of the vehicle before attempting to program a key ? What programmer are you using ?
KDX2 shows that the key is unlocked but it can`t write to it.
I would need a diffrent programmer to write to it?
Haven`t tried the coil on the side.
You dont have to write to key with any programmer…
Do you have tool to unlock fem?
That’s basically step 1.
I only have the KDX2.
Are you fckn serious????????????

KDX2 is a cloner, the HitagPro transponder on BMW FEM keys can not be cloned. It can not help you in making a new key for your BMW. You need to program a new key to the module to make it work. To do that you need an IC programmer and an OBD2 diagnostic tool that is able to do key programming on BMWs.
It is not an easy DIY job to do on weekends beacause you need knowledge and skills in the field as well as professional expensive tools to do it correctly.
The price of the tools surpass the price of a new key at the BMW dealers so it does not make economic sense to proceed.
Thanks for the reply, I needed three FOBs done since we have two X6Ms in the family and though it would be cheaper than the stealership.
Yes it will if you go to auto locksmith / elctrician. Not everybody do FEM's, I peronally don't, there is a risk doing this and this process modify FEM security level, I don't like it, thats why dont do it.
Seriously you expect you could just clone existing key with a tool which looks like an early 2000 mobile phone?
