    Question mgcamd on dm800hd pro

    ive read loads regarding this, but still have problems to set this up :/

    i have this on my box:
    Digital Kaos - Downloads - newnigma2-exp-dm800-ssl82.rar

    i want to start fresh again, so I believe I have to download the mgcamd through the tspanel, right ? is there any other thing that I have to download to get it to work ?

    when I ftp to my box, I have the mg_cfg file in the etc, but I still dont quite get it where should I paste the line. some people say about file called newcamd.list - but i dont seem to have it anywhere, thats why i was asking if i have to download anything more.

    my mate send me the CWS line, but he doesnt know much about dm800 as he's got dm500 and its different apparently

    EDIT: hope it's not against the rules, as I've not mentioned any services here

    haha i'm actually facing the same problem.

    If someone could help that would be great!

    I don't have a newcamd.list file either but i added one manually with filezilla.

    Still didn't work

    Hi used this, downloaded from this site delete/edit all the unwanted bits, when I downloaded you have to make sure that you download the complete program and the config. Go to usr/keys and you should have a file called mg_config and newcamd.list (this was not present until i installed program below) the info reqd to clear channels needs to be entered in the newcamd.list file.

    got it sorted eventually

    you need to edit the mg_cfg file and in the network mode line change this

    G: { 01 }

    01 is the newcamd client so it will fetch the line from the newcamd.list.

    if you dont have the newcamd.list - you can create it in notepad and just ftp it to the usr/keys. paste your line in that file, starting with CWS

    Big thanks Mark.

    For some reason I had to install through Telnet. TSPanel wasn't sufficient. Weird but hey it worked so thanks a lot mate.

    For any noobs out there like me this is what you need to do:

    1. Download Marks file above
    2. Extract Mark's file above (ipk file) and copy to the /tmp folder on your dreambox. You'll need to ftp in via filezilla or some other ftp program.
    3. Downloand and install putty and Telnet to your Dreambox's ip.
    4. CD /tmp
    5. ipkg install DE-enigma2-plugin-softcam-mgcamd-config.ipk

    Now you need to edit you newcamd.list file in user/key
    Remove the .example from the file extension.

    CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
    CWS_INCOMING_PORT = 21000
    CWS = {your line} wan server1

    Replace wan with lan if your using a lan. Thats it really.

    Thanks folks

    To get newcamd list file. Just type (newcamd list download) into your search engine. Download it, ftp the file to var/keys, then open it in notepad and edit as your needs. Save close and thats it. Make sure you have the cam set up.

    i have added mgcamd and also edited newcamd list with my server details and still get nothing, the line supports mgcamd

    my mg_cfg reads:

    G: { 41 }

    # network retry, use summ for several options
    # 00 disable
    # 01 retry every new ecm
    # 02 try to connect to offline shares every Q: seconds
    # 04 try to detect and fast reconnect to lost (and not used atm) server
    # + XX messages number and YY seconds to reconnect
    # mg will reconnect to server, if no answer to last XX ecm/keepalive or
    # if no answer for last ecm or keepalive sent for YY seconds
    # set to 0 to disable
    N: { 07 } 5 30

    do i need to alter anything?

    i deleted the ones that were already on my box
    rebooted my box

    then went to TSPanel and downloaded new ones from there, i got 1.35a and also the config file that was under it.

    rebooted my box, then made sure that was my default cam then editted the newcamd.list that had been made in usr>keys with my line and it worked
