    Default Yaris 2009 remote programming.

Ive made a copy key from the transponder clone function and cut blade. Car is starting fine but cant get the remote locking function to work. Ive read a guide online to enter programming manually but it fails to add every time. Could someone tell me the best way to add these to the cars remote locking.

depends which yaris you have , some models to 2009 are manual procedure , but if a true 2009 model the remote is programmed via a diagnostic tool and not a manual procedure.
if manual procedure fails then this tells you its most likely a true 2009 and diagnostic tool is needed .

maybe call a locksmith who has invested in adequate diagnostic kit to do the job and who can use registration and vin to know exactly what system is fitted to know which of the various manual procedures to use or if it is diagnostics needed and which kit to use .
in calling out someone who can achieves a number of goals for you , you have a happy customer as the job gets done , if you watch the job being done you learn for next time , its actually a win win.

theres far more to these jobs than clone and go

    im certainly not having a dig at you , but if you are going to take these jobs on you need ;

    1) to get some training or put in some learning time to learn the basics and the resources for research
    2) know and understand the limititations and capabilities of the tools you have
    3) invest in adequate tooling for the jobs you take on

members help those that make an obvious effort far more than those that dont bother , for this question a look at many distributor web pages would hold your answer as a for instance https://3dgroupuk.com/product/view/TR19ac

I have read and tried all the manual procedures on the internet and it refuses to accept them. I have launch vpro diagnostic and it doesnt support the yaris for remote programming. I also have the keytool plus obdstar dpad and many other tools. Is there one that is good for these toyotas.

you could try smart pro , TDB1000 or autel IM608 all claim to do these .

or as has been said research the correct manual procedure , timing must be correct .

you do not give much detail , you just say fails to add , more details such as vin , and where its failing may help get you better answers.

    1) does the vehicle indicate that its in programming mode by the locks cycling ( locking and unlocking ) or do you not get this indication from the car after the key insertions , door closing and opening and ign on and off

2 ) if the car does indicate that its in programming mode so you know all good so far and you progress to the button pressing after completing the button pressing does the car react again by cycling locks , if so do the locks cycle once or twice.

these answers will point to the issue .

if not indicating that its in programming mode by the locks cycling then its a procedure error to this point , either
    1) your timing is out and need to get this correct
    2) your procedure is wrong
    3) it needs diag
    4) fault on car , worth checking door switches fuses etc

if it is indicating that its in programming mode by the locks cycling but when you complete the procedure the locks cycle twice to indicate failed procedure , then again its either procedure error or an issue with the remote you are trying to code in, is it a genuine remote ?

i assume you are using this procedure

    1. have all transmitters to hand.

    2. with Key out of ignition OPEN and UNLOCK the DRIVER'S side door. CLOSE all other doors including the trunk.

    3. Within 5 seconds INSERT the key into the ignition and PULL it out TWICE ( do not turn key just insert and remove.

    4. within 40 seconds CLOSE then OPEN the DRIVER's door TWICE.

    5. Insert key INTO the ignition then REMOVE it.

    6. within 40 seconds CLOSE then OPEN the DRIVER's door TWICE.

    7. Insert the key INTO the ignition and LEAVE it in ignition do not turn it.

    8. CLOSE the DRIVER's door.

    9. Switch the ignition to ON then OFF do not crank engine.

    10. REMOVE the key from ignition.

    11. within 3 seconds The door locks will now cycle to confirm the vehicle has successfully entered programming mode by locking then unlocking.
if at this point the locks do not cycle the procedure has failed and you need to start again

12.within 40 seconds PUSH and HOLD the LOCK and UNLOCK button simultaneously ( together) for 1.5 seconds on the first remote being programmed. As soon as you let go PUSH just the LOCK button and HOLD it down.

    13. within 10 seconds The door locks will cycle ONCE to confirm successful programming of the remote. If you have any additional remotes to program repeat step 12 if you have no additional remotes proceed to step 14 , if the locks cycle twice then the procedure has failed.

    14. OPEN the DRIVER'S door. Programming is now complete.

If key chime does not sound when you insert key, means it does not recognize key is there. Have run into a couple lately where I had to either jiggle a little, or in case of tocoma I did, had to push in and hold up on key to make key chime sound. Failed to add extra keys on 09 corolla until I realize key chime not sounding. 1st master went in ok, but had to jiggle additional keys to get them to program in.
