how you think.............. who will come to you to check what gone wrong
by my opinion: very good happened because you get lesson for future................ no experience - don't touch
I have a 2007 dodge sprinter with the Bosch EDC16CP31 ECU.
- I removed the ECU from the van
- I removed 1 side of the cover of the ecu, reinstalled in van, van fired right up
- removed ecu from van again and removed the other back side cover of ecu
- I put ecu back in van to test if there was any damage done when removing both covers of the ecu
- Bare pcb Ecu put back in van, went to start van and "ESP Visit Woshop, ABS Visit Workshop, And Visit Workshop with a Tire Icon" displayed on dash
- the van will do everything but start
- I check all ecu related fuses and none are blown
- battery has enough volts
- I hear the relay click for the starter on SAM
- the transmission makes a ZAPPING noise for a quick second when you turn the key to on
- I can not read dtc codes via obd, there is no communication whatsoever to the ecu via obd.
I am desperate for help and willing to pay someone to get me out of this hole I dug my self.

I'm afraid you damaged the board, this happened me also,no visible damage to pcb, car ran for a week then died, after that, if I need to get to the other side of any ecu I just cut a great big chunk out of the ecu case
I have a used ecu on the way. the orig ecu file is backed up to my computer via ktag but Im sure if its correct because of the issue with the no start. I need help on the procedure of swapping files. I have a ktag and kess
When your ecu arrives post all the files and someone will help
