if your box was auto updating before you scanned then the firmware on it will be ok

on the remote press menu and the main menu screen comes up
point remote at box and enter 1 5 7 0 and the cas screen opens

Hi. I have had the starview 4 (super usb) for about nine months. It has been working fine, when the channels didnt show up i'd restore factory setiings, rescan then enter 1570 and everything would return to normal. However when i got up this morning all my channels were off (just black screen) I did the rescan and swith Cas to on and only the free channels ie BBc1 etc came back- the likes of skysports arent working anymore!
The fraud message channel now says "Missing channels? Call now to dicuss a package for the channels you had prviuosly been getting for free?"

Does this mean the end of the line for my box or can anyone tell me if there is anything I can do? Would downloading new firmware onto my USB resolve this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers

where are you mate??? vermin would not know that you or anyone else have been using a dodgy box, btw.

if you have 1.07 on box, put1,2 on instead, but not if box is a clone..vip..

sorry mate, i didnt realise that reply was for me hence i started that other topic. Im in edinburgh, I have never had to download anything or enter any codes for my box in the past, when i got the box it was all set up and ready to go and i was told it had an auto update feature or something so i'd presume id have the latest software but maybe im mistaken? So i should be looking to download software....do you have any links to where I can get this and is it simple to do?

    Thanks in advance

As boomer39 says you are most likely to be running on firmware version 1.07, press menu & system info and it will show, if it is as above the latest is v1.12 but please make sure your sv is not a clone because this vesion will only work on genuine sv's

May i ask how i would know if it is a clone? I have the box and it has starview and the logo etc on it- looks pretty official. Is a clone just a similar box with a different brand name?

    Sorry if im sounding stupid!

Not sounding stupid at all, if unsure it's always best to ask, it could be a costly mistake. If you use the search button in the sv section I'm almost positive there's an identification guide, if you can't find it I'll have a look later & post back.
Jok you type quicker than me!

Hi huys new to the forum looked at it many times before for answers but this time i am going to have to post a question.

I am just outside Edinburgh and today my box (super USB) lost all channels I did a factory restore ran a scan and got some channels but was not able to unlock the encrypted channels. I have been able to scan my box before and unlock the encryted channels.
I have firmware version v1.07 so as far as i have read I need to upgrede to V1.12 This is when I downloaded the v1.12 done a factory restore switched the box off put the usb with the firmware on it in the box. Then I started the box went to USB confirmed I I wanted to do a software update. Then I got the following message. "it is not a file of this IRD"

Hi all just a update to my problem posted above I formmatted the USB drive as a FAT32 file system as I moticed it was formatted as FAT which is a 16 bit After that tried again putting v1.12 on to my box and worked great.
