    Default JTAG and DM500S

    Hi
Have read a lot of posts about Jtag and dreambox in here - great help!

I have used the windows program and after a few try I got connection to the box and was able to write a new boot to my DM500. When I used Dreamup to flash a new image to the box it says boxtype 56xx and not 500.
What to do now? Just continue and flash a new image or Jtag from beginning?

    Hi
Just looks like you flashed the wrong bootloader file, was it from this site?
Try another from the D/L section and try another Dreamup from here or use the popular search engine.

Yes it was a file from this site.

Where to find the right bootloader file?

    Hi
Depending on your Tuner you could change 2 of the four Alps or Phillips files to blimg in (boot.zip, boot(2).zip) and try them, unless anyone knows the secret of these illusive blimg files.

ahh so the secret is just to rename the dm500-alps-boot.bin to blimg and use the windows program to transfer the bootloader to the box?

    Hi
I found this in my collection, it mentions success with Alps tuner on a db500 in a readme file so is worth a try, as i'm not too sure about just renaming the Alps bin file to a blimg, so try this first unless you feel brave.

    Hi jbvid

This is the same folder/file that I have used for my DM500 clone.
Dreamup just shows that the model type is a DM56xx, so it seems that the blimg file is not the right one...

I was hoping that someone had the right blimg file for the program...

Maybe there is stille someone out there that knows how to solve this problem.

    But thanks again for trying!
