Eeprom quesion. RIC24c16-s.

Hello all in this very good forum.
I have here a old Volvo Penta ecu. (EDC1)
I suspect the original RIC24c16 eeprom trigger fault that is not true. Ecu and eeprom is now about 20 years old.
I know that eeprom should survive a lot longer.
This RIC24c16-s eeprom is NLA, but i have ordered eeprom that should have same spec.
Those are 24c16-l 24c16-b and 24c16-k. When testing those.... ecu trow error code (eeprom write and read error)
Ecu works with new eeproms at diagnostic at bench and it looks like all ok besides the error code that would not be cleared.

I have original Elnec Beeprog2.
I wrote this file to all 24c16 eeprom versions L-B-K

So my question is...what are i am missing/or not understand.
