Question How fast should a gigabit network be????

i've just set up gigabit network using a Netgear WNR854T N-Router, 2 TP-Llink 10/100/1000 network cards and 2 NAS drives that run at 1000...

I'm moving allot of data between the 2 NAS drives
i selected a 4.66gig folder to move and it said it would take 11 minuets...
    surely that can't be right
or is it because i need to use Cat6 patch cords????

A GB LAN LAN max is 125Meg/sec, but depending on you HD you will get less. Most 7200 rpm drive are around 50-60 meg/sec. If you have 5400rpm drive its around 25-30.
