    Default Xhorse Tab disappointments

    Hello,

I needed a MB back up tool.
Owning MB cgdi, and then considered a vvdi mb tool.

I figured, i buy the tab tool.

2 months, of getting used to it, and now, i truly hate it.

Mainly the MB tool, it does not allow to go back and forward in the menu.
Soon as you read the eis. You should be able to paste or type in the known pass.
There is no logic in the menu.
Compared to the regular mb vvdi tool.
Some mb eis, it did not read. The cgdi did these just fine.
    W203 W215 eis no go.
A elv emulator w204, failed to get this done when i just got it.
And it took me only a minutes with cgdi.
A simple check, what possition the last working key is.
So not to overwrite that position. Should be 1 click away.

Many simple key programming functions dont work.
Renault fail, Dodge fail, Opel fail, Ford fail. Obdstar did all that failed with this tab.

And the JLR maintenance service reset function. Non of these work. I tried a few different cars.

I dont use it on Vag, or on Bmw.
I need to be able see and to save data.
A simple overside of the key positions from 1 to 8. But no.
Accessing it, to modify data. change vin, change vin pin ect. Just like to vvdi2 menu.

Only good thing, the obdport, charges it, show cars voltage.
    And it startsup fast.

    Dont buy it.

This is a problem with new tools from China some have very little testing for example obdstar there were lots of problems with screen faults and once we parted our money they do not won't to know .
I think the only thing that I like from xhorse is the vvdi mini key tool and the best is the superchip great invention and good price.

I would not mind, that new features need to be tested and developped.

    However,;
The MB vag and BMW all work good,
    On the pc tools.
Why cant they Fix the menu.

    And go from there

    ------------------------------
Mb key learning, one off many examples.
A simple command is given during programming:
Insert 'working key' to EIS before press OK.

Meaning A; insert key, then press ok.
Or meaning B; press ok, before you insert key.

    Small things, easy fixable.

Specialy if you are programming for instance a key or remote, on a not so common cars, you want clear instructions.
Especialy when you get a ERROR, and need to figure out, if you have choosen the correct system.
Are al other variables are ok,
    Does the function realy work,
Do i have the correct transponder.

Wait to you try and precode anything using it.
You have to disassemble any key and insert the PCB only into the hole and in many cases that will fail.

It has trouble writing anything, xhorse remotes, precoding vag keys and so on.
Many of the functions of ECU reading do not work correctly also and give read errors.

Yeah, its been a total disappointment of a tool.
I got one of the first ones available and it has yet to impress me.

Xhorse do some software updates rather than every year dozen new devices!

On vvdi 2 or MB you have not add nothing new for years! You still far behind Autohex or CGDI.

Key tool plus its getting dusted recently. I have been using it almost a year and I did not find nothing special on it.

    I like:
Very fast and convenient hardware. It does system operation in seconds - I love it.
Built in the Mercedes keys and chip reader is spot on. If you are doing any operation on the car, you don’t need drag any usb, obd or extra interface like a spider web.
It has wizard mode for MB, VW or BMW keys if someone like.
Very good battery, holds for ages and being charge quickly via OBD.

    Not sure:
Lots functions missing from other VVDI devices eg: MB - mileage calibration, VVDI2 – bcm2 or ecu calculator missing, ecu reading not working, VVDI prog – lots missing.
Updates not very often and not relevant eg: update condor or key tool database which is not very important for me.
Not a lot immo updates, so lots, lots cars is missing and over one year they did not add nothing special . Ordinary Reno or opel you wont be able to programme many. Shame still need to use something else for it.
You can’t create new folder when saving file from programmer and after is difficult to find it. This doing saving where it wants. This is very inconvenient as I have to always spent too much time on the file explorer - rename and search for it.
Don’t really understand why do I need Condor of Key tool on it. User should be able to delate it. It is to huge to generate chip or remote and not doing any better than little devices.
It looks like does not support usb pendrive.
BMW still lack of ISN function, still many CAS3 not supported. Unable to restore downgraded flashes, no programming or coding or basic diagnostic – 100 years behind competitors.
FEM – very inconvenient operation on the service eeprom. You need to disolder and solder to special adapter – so I don’t like it.
MB everything the same – recently server issues for the calculation but I think it is for everyone.
It has MB W163 remote programming added but not the chip.

If you have others vvdi tools just dont bother. Those people probably give you new device next month with some more functions.
