Peugeot Boxer 2014 BSI cloning

Hi guy's looking for some help,

I attempted to repair the relay in my dads Peugeot Boxer 2014 plate BSI, I replaced the relay but the issue was still there, so I want to replace the whole BSI unit now.
The first problem I have is trying to find the correct unit, there are units that look identical but the information on the white label that identifies the BSI is slightly different. The connectors and fuses and plastic housing all look identical to the one I have, so looking for some advice, could I pick one of these units up from ebay or a scrap yard and swap over the chips from the old BSI (old BSI starts the van fine etc) and put them on to the new one.

I also need to try and understand what chips I need to move across so hoping for some pointers on that.

Here are some photos below of the BSI that is in the van along with a picture of the label that is on it, also I've included some other images showing the other BSI's I can find on eBay and in scrap yards that look identical but have slightly different labels which ill also show. Also I belive this same BSI unit can be found in not just the Peugeot Boxer but also the Fiat Ducato and Citroën Relay of similar year and shape.

You need to pay attention .... and more to the year of manufacture

Thanks Bllinda so I can't use this other variant from another van? The highlighted parts of the image those need to be the same? are you asking me to read a eeprom chip?

Yes the 95640 is the eeprom chip.


You need to open the BSI and compare what's inside. Sometimes it's just an update of same bsi too so different numbers. Swap the chips. Last resort is to do an immo off

Thanks Fuz1, I was in contact with a few programmers today who said the white label above needs to match exactly for them to be able to re-program it, something to do with the software versions. I would have thought changing the chips over would also mean taking the software from the old one over to the new one? still trying to figure it all out.
