Default BMW E90 - Key not releasing / ignition stay on

Got a 2007 E90 here that isn't releasing the key, i.e. the ignition is staying on after turn engine off.

Other than a brute force pulling the key out (which still doesn't solve the problem of the ignition staying on draining the battery), the only ways i've found to release the key is to either remove the black relay on the right hand side of the fusebox behind the glovebox, or to unplug the small connector on the front top left of the same fusebox (when removed you can hear the black relay clicking off too). When one of these are disconnected, then the key slot works properly ejecting the key and turning the ignition on/off as it should, but can't start the engine it just keeps cranking over.
I've already tried replacing the relay, but made no difference. I had a good spare key slot too, but again makes no difference when fitted.

I believe this relay is for Terminal 30g control, and to my knowledge its function is only to turn off power to auxillary loads approx 30 min after turning the ignition off. So i'm looking through info to try and find out how this is linked and where to do further testing.
I done a full system scan of the vehicle today, and there wasn't anything that had jumped out to me as being related to the fault. I'll scan the car again tomorrow, or may go back to garage later tonight and get a note /screenshots of the codes.

Anyone have any pointer where to start looking & what to test.
Any good sources for the wiring diagrams etc? The site i've used before seems to have closed.

The key slot has actually been replaced with a known good one and exhibits exactly the same problem, and like i say if I disconnect the relay or plug at fuse box, then the key slot is working correctly.

Actually when i first got the car it had been having this problem a few days, then had problems starting so owner called me.
In the begining, the owner was removing key from the slot using some force, then lock car with ignition still on.
After a few days with this problem, apparently one morning it wouldn't start (or crank over) like dead battery, then this is when owner contacted me.

So initially when i start looking at the car i concentrate on the non-start problem.
First thing the battery was low voltage, so it was charged up and then try to start car, it would crank but not start, and it shown a symbol on dash for the ELV fault (Symbol - Steering wheel with padlock). When i did a full code scan on the vehicle there were codes related to the CAS module too, sure one of the codes said 'EWS tampering', so i 'guessed' the CAS is faulty / corrupted (planning to try check the CAS dumps later today), anyway the owner has a full spare car available for parts (engine knackered), so we've taken the DDE & CAS module from the spare car and fitted them into his car, and i was able to get the engine started and running ok, only problem is still cannot get key out or ignition off.
Although i would point out that the original CAS module was CAS3 and space car was CAS2 - i did start wondering if this would affect it too, but is now back to the state it was when fault first developed with one before stopped running.

If anyone have pointers to wiring diagrams, CAS pinouts etc that would be great.

Car originally had this problem with CAS3, then customer got me to fit a new ECU & CAS2 they had. So car now runs but have problem getting key out.
I don't know enough about this system to know if dropping down to the CAS2 may not be helping the situation, but of course this situation was there with original CAS. I've attached copies of the eep & flash dump from the oringal CAS3. Can anyone tell if the attached files are corrupt?

EDIT: Sorry, i mean oringal was CAS3+ with 0L15Y
