Default List of which lead to use with which software?

Does anyone have a list of which leads work with which software?
I've only recently stumbled across this site (which incidently is easily the best car communications/diagnostic forum) and can't help noticing there is no such list (from what I can find).
Ideally the list would be in manufacturer order with the software then listed and finally which leads work with the software.
I understand there are many variables with all the different language protocols used but I would think there is definatly people on here with the knowledge to write it.
Alternativley we could all list our own leads and software they work with.

    sl4ck, check this one out

Ford Focus Fiesta KA Fault Code Diagnostic Scanner Tool on eBay (end time 10-Mar-10 16:15:58 GMT)

It is Ford specific, gaining access to ABS, SRS, TCM, PCM and having the ability to program Tdci injectors in on Mondeo/Transit (also mentions Mazda,Volvo,Jaguar and Aston Martin).

I've no experience with it as yet but I have ordered it so will report back when it arrives.

Intreasting, but when you get it in your hand test it to the max.

What about re-configering airbag modules, ie to fit new module, re-code keys, etc etc.

please share the software and is it a demo software when it comes?

I've received the Ford lead and software off E-bay today.
I have only tested it on a 2003 Mondeo TDCi so far, I'll report back on other models at a later date.

    Well what can I say?
The software isn't very good at all, don't get me wrong it works but the GUI is very basic and needs improving.

I have successfully read and cleared fault codes (non OBD & OBD codes) from the mondeo and monitored live data in both PCM and HUD.

ABS, HUD and Airbags seamed to read ok although there were no DTC's to report (TCM was not available as the Mondeo has a manual gearbox). However it would not read the injector correction factors of the Mondeo unless I initially selected Focus TDCi rather than Mondeo? Strange.

I need to have a bit more time playing with the software to give it a proper report. I need to be able to create faults and see if they are picked up (I also have access to genuine Fords IDS so can easily check if its working or not) but first impressions are that it could be quite a useful tool although the software is a little basic.

The software can be downloaded from for free: (beware Kaspersky anti-virus does come up with a virus false positive about downloading from the site)

Ford USB scanner Ford diagnostic ford-scan fordscanner ford-scanner for Sale

I have also tried using the lead with the following software to no avail:
    Scan XL
    ScanMaster ELM
    ScanTool.net V1.20
    ProScan
    Digimoto

Non of the above software recognised the lead/interface.

I have also purchased this kit.... bit worried about software as my virus software comes up with a trojan warning when installing so I have removed it from my everyday laptop and installed on a laptop that i dont use on the net. I used it to reprogram a transit connect that had running problems...read injectors and reprogramed with the correct codes. also cleared the faults it had. good piece of kit but limited to certain models also i tried to run auto enginuity on the same car but it wouldnt pick up the obd interface so i hope its not limited to the one piece of software? any ideas for more software? Never tried the airbag system..well got into it but no faults so seems a good in depth program just not a big model range,
    thanks
