Odis and suitable interface and what to look for

Im looking for a diy friendly option to use with odis. Ive looked around and can see there are VAS6154 and VAS5054 but also there are other devices that will work as pass through such as a J2534.

If anyone as any suggestions that would be great

Toyota's Cheap MINI VCI Interface as PASSThru works with:
-ODIS -S 5.1.6 WIN OS 7 32 bit -
-ODIS -S 7.2.1 WIN OS 10 64 bit
I also checked Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 but it didn't work with ODIS.
