Hi, thanks for your reply and feedback.

My understanding is that it doesn't matter.
Can you please explain why it is better to put ISN in DME?

My tools cannot write ISN into DME without opening and soldering which is why I prefer to do it this way.

    Cheers

Hi, i think, its better to write in dme too, because it will prevent you from writing cas3 each time you change ecu at the risk to corrupt or break something while working on cas3.

I think its better too, to put car isn in dme because the dme should be adapted to car and not the car adapted to dme.

Anyway its just my thoughts. The most important is results

Sometimes the old DME does not communicate and only way to get ISN is to read CAS3 and use working key so it doesn't really make a difference.
I've used this methods many times. Sometimes I do change ISN in DME (when possible without opening DME) but if I have to open DME to write ISN then I prefer to change it in CAS.

Thanks for your feedback either way.
