    Default Transponder

    Hi there i got a dreambox 500+ cable one... I cant search no channels :| example when i click on bruteforce for uk it will search and everything but when i click on start scan it will not do anything :| could anyone help me

    What image is on the box? Are you sure it's 500+ recevier?

    Have no clue what image mate.... Its a DM500 i think ? sorry am a noob with dreambx's

    We can't help unless we know what you're working with.

    Press MENU > INFORMATION > About

    What does it say in there?

    What picture is shown when the box boots up?

    It might not be a UK image so the scanning settings won't work.

    It might be your signal is too low so it won't see any channels.

    Unless you give us more info, no matter how irrelevant you think it is, we can't narrow it down.

    OK...you have the Digital Kaos image on which is good.

    When you're in the automatic scanning menu, scroll through the list and see if your town/city is listed. If it is, select it and do a scan.

    If it's not, choose the 6952 or 6887 option. 6887 is for ex-ntl areas and 6952 is for ex-tw and ex-c&w areas.

    Right well did a scan for ilford didnt work came up insert antenna or something like that... did a search with the 6592 and i got the channels all channels are there but when i click on a channel no picture :|

    Hmmm all the BBC channels work but nothing else does :| i cant seem to find out about channels on that link devilfish :| wondering if u could help me i am not 100% confident in flashing plus i dnt have the wire for flashing it either :|

    I have not done anything :| basicly all the channels were working one day then next they stopped. So i did a automatic tranponder scan..... searched with 6952 and found a vaild transponder clicked start scan didn't tick the free channels box.... Now its done scannning got all the channels now.... but none of them work like picture will not come up it will show me whats on now later etc.... Weird thing is BBC channels work channel 1 2 3 4 5 all work :|

    so you have freeview at the minute and all the other channels are ready to go just blank i take it

    you need some keys

    you need to ftp them into your box you will need a crossover cable then follow this thread by thommo

    keys go in var/keys scce in var/scce

    then you should be up and running
