First to answer your question I need to know if there is another release of 10.6.4 also marked as 18 April 2011 but different than the one available today in RT site.

I am saying that because I don't know if Ross Tech is uploading new versions of VCDS 10.6.4 just with new black listed serials and keeping the same date and version number.

Imagine this: I downloaded VCDS 10.6.4 a couple weeks ago before RT found out that there is another free dump so RT reupload the same VCDC 10.6.4 but with a new blacklist.

So to be sure I need to download today from RT 10.6.4 version and find out if it's working or not with 11.2 dump or compare HASHs.

This is not odd because I own two versions of VCDS 11.2 beta with different file sizes... I downloaded them in different time frames.

I download a couple minutes ago VCDS 10.6.4 from RT site and I compared HASHEs from the one I download today and the one I download a couple weeks ago.

Conclusion: both versions are the same.

So, you have your answer here

but keep in mind that this is not always true... As I said I own two versions of VCDS 11.2 and maybe version 1 works with 11.2 dump and version 2 doesn't.

No I'm saying that if you use Runasdata maybe will dosen't works well.
It happened to me in the past when I used it with VCDS 10.6.0
If you change the system data maybe will work but no using runasdata.

I've tried changing the date with VCDS 11.2 Beta and worked just fine with the new dump...

BTW, i've download VCDS 10.6.4 from RT site today and worked like a charm

could you teach us to fish. I mean, could you teach what tools, and what to look for in VCDS.exe file to patch it, we would like to patch VCDS10.6.4 to work with reflashed VAG cable with FTDI RL chips.

What VCDS should be opened in OllyDbg? Launched or an exe-file

For 11.2 beta, just do like that:
1- change the date before the expire date,
2- delete d1.bin,d2.bin,d3.bin and tst.bin
3- start VCDS and test interface. should be ok.
4-make any tests with the interface it will work ok.
5-stop VCDS.
6-Put corect date into Pc.

Next time when you need to test with 11.2 , just take it from 1 !

And I forgot to say that 11.2 beta DO NOT ERASE the interface. It blokes it self , but do not affect the interface. Just 11.3 beta distroy the interface.

I tried that, and I found several points with "jnz short"(75 04), but addresses are totaly diferent of 4xxxxx. I think I?m not using well ollydbg, because it isn?t loading program in correct virtual address, or I don?t know how to use the raw offset. Or when I try to follow vcds.exe(10.6.3 original) with Ollydbg from dup2, it shows "0047930D 0000 ADD BYTE PTR [EAX],AL"

How do I do that? When I open vcds.exe(from VCDS10.6.3 Ross-Tech original) It opens in "0180E000 > FC CLD" the entry, but when I try to run it, it stops because write acceses violation one and again,and again. Maybe Olly is wrong set.

I think my cable might be broken. When i put in the cable and check the device id it says: VID_0409 but PID_0058. It is a 10.6.3 cable, and i think i broke it while trying 10.6.4 software. When i put in 10.6.4 cable in my laptop i get PID_FA26. So how can i repair the 10.6.3 cable? I try putting the PID_0058 into the rt-usb.inf, but windows says he cant find drivers for the cable. How should i proceed? open up the cable?

How to launch a file in Olly? What of variants the correct?
1. Launch Olli -> File -> Open -> VCDS.???
2. Launch VCDS.??? -> Launch Olli -> File -> Attach -> to select process (VCDS.???) -> Attach
