Hi, I have a couple of clones, an 805 and 106 and both with similar problems. After reading here, I think there is less work to modify than buy new parts. I have had some practice with smd desoldering. Here is a question please:

Both leads will not complete an Autoscan without 'stopping'.
Both leads will not show module block code 000 which is needed for the TDI timing application and is shown in all recent manuals. Perhaps their app/hardware versions may be lower than 'full'?

Do you guys see all the functions, including engine module block 000 and without 'crashes' in Autoscan?

    Thanks

    Guys, please tell me.
If we get a chineese clone for 10.6.0 version (FT232RQ chip), make the original VCDS work with it, then make the original 11.3 version to update it (the license in atmega is not blacklisted). Will it be possible to reflash it from 1.81 to 1.84 version ?

As I could find in internet, first the chip IC8 and its transistor should be removed (it flashes it's original firmware each time its connected to car).

Is it right? So we remove the IC8 and R50 and can re-flash without special programmer - just with original VCDS software if the license number is not blacklisted. ?

Stop dreaming or you read bad.
In the Clones the serial is always blacklisted.
And first where did you find chinese clones withFT232RQ?
    I haven't seen anymore.
To upgrade you need to unsolder that components and reflash Atmega with dumps for the version you need.
    No other way
    Good luck

But we only order and sell here clones with FT232RQ.
And we DO have proper VCDS software (original) where are NO blacklisted licenses.

So it seems that if I unsolder the (STC) IC8 chip, so it will be possible to upgrade through the VCDS (corrected) software?

Hi, all engines don't have this possibility thus no block 000, i know for sure TDI PD engines don't. You can find here some explanation TDIGraph - TDI Timing Checker
After you do interface modification and flash it with good dump you will have full functionality. Tested many many times

    let me make you understand.
Show me a pics of bth side of your PCB to belive you that you got a FT232RQ based.
And if your tool has a serial to work with original softwear in the upper version this serial will be blacklisted.
Please tell me what version do you buy?
    Good luck

Ok, I'll make photos of it today.
And yes, serial is not blacklisted in newer software. One of older cables with FT232RL has been trying to update today. VCDS showed "update required" then tried to update, but has shown "unable to update in 1 minute". This cable still show the license and still work (so it's really not blacklisted).

    Please check up in attachment.
    It's 10.6.0 chines clones.

I unsoldered the IC8 and D7 chips today. My VCDS has checked the version, told that it needed to update. Then when update started in 30-40 secs it shows "unable to update" too ?

That's what I'm trying to solve: which components on the board doesn't allow to update it from VCDS ?

    M8 stop dreaming.
You cannot update your interface because you need an original softwear to update and your tool works with modified softwear.
I will not advise you to try the oiginal softwear because your Atmega will be erase.
Try to understand that tools with Ft232BL/BM works with original softwears and that one can be updated but if the serial in clones are blacklisted in new softwears the Atmega in them will be erased.
I tell you again stop playing with this tool because you'll cry after.
    Good luck

I understand you and know about the ATmega erase etc..
But I really do have a VCDS (original) which will work with any cable. It should update it. And does with the BM-fitted cables. I'm trying to understand what is changed in chineese clones.

They change it with this FT232RL
I suppose they change the tool and the softwear.
It is made for marketing just for each version to b uy another tool not to upgrade it.
You cannot upgrade it if you unsolder that components and reflash the GAL and the Atmega and do that change on the PCB
For tool wth FT232BL/BM it is much easy, I mean you do not need to reflash GAL and do changes on PCB just unsolder 3 components.
But always the serials will be blacklisted in the new version of VCDS softweras.
    Good luck

In your photo i see 3 lines with "turquoise" (like in tutorial of Aminebot) and 6 with blue. The 6 lines what are?

I understand you cut pin 12 of MCP to pin 12 of atmega and you rerouting like in VCDS with BL schematic?
Have you reprogrammed the GAL circuit? because is necessary for rerouting like in BL/BM....(the 3 wires with "turquoise")..

And i see another bleu wire above the transistors/diodes..why?

THEORETICALY... if you rerouting like in BM schematic, it must work with original soft 10.6.4 or with 11.2.0 with loader for BM/BL.
But is only theory...in fact it can no work because of RL...

But...if you make the RL like BL the update from VCDS blacklist the interface..

Only the reprogramm the atmega is sure..

Maybe someone would find the information about fuse lock bits usefull.

Programed with LPT programmer and then readed with UPA.
