    Hy Guys,

please I need a little bit Help

im from Germany therefore my bad English.
Yesterday Im unfortunately destroy my English VCDS 908 clone with the English Version
Of VCDs 10.6 . Now Window detect the cable as unknown device, I want to fix the cable
and read many topics here and from other sites about fixing damage cable.

Now I hope anybody can help me a little bit, I need a Dump 908 ore (can I use a dump from 912?) and a prog to flash it (I think I have to solder the atmeg162 to flash it with LPT prog is this right?) Have anybody a description?

    many thanks

You need to reprog. atmega (you have dump for eng. version 908.0 in this thread read it) ,use pony prog for that, after reprog. ftdi eeprom also you have dumps here (FT232RL OR FT232BL) then you are good to go.

OK, so i flashed my Atmega and now i am having some issues. should i have removed the STC and other parts before using it as it now does not work?

do you have to add the 3 wires as per the guide or just remove said components before use?

i am guessing i will have to reflash 1.83 and arash 908?

    thanks in advance

For interface with FT232RL you have solution here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...ft232r-160237/ for this interface use ftdi eeprom for 232rl from here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...tml#post816515 also for ft232rl you must use ftprog (no mprog) and rename extension from .ept to .xml
If your interface has ft232bl then you only need to remove stc chip, transistor and resistor before flashing atmega and after flash ftdi eeprom with mprog (erase first than write). Anyway, it is much better to have interface with ft232bl, recently i upgraded interface ver. 607 to 912 without any problem.

    best regards

P.S. again and again dump ver. 908 http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...tml#post747646 People you need to read a lot more

    hy
my problem is the flash order
there are two chips the Atmega and the TF232RL in the cable ?
an i have to flash both ore not?

than i flash the Atmega with the 908 Dump therefore I use "Tutorial , VCDS 805 programming and upgrading " i solder the cable and resistors like in this Tutorial is this correct?

I Have download this dump from arash but there are two fils in the rar file in the tutorial the extension is a .bin
file and only one file to flash but in the rar file are two .hex files a eprom.hex and a flash.hex <- I need both and what do with this files?

OK than when its done, i flash the TF232RL, but how i flash the TF232RL with which hardware? can i use the same
    how i flash the Atmega?

    Thank You for your help

Flash order: first write ftdi eeprom with appropriate dump for ft232rl or bl, use mprog or ftprog acordingly. For this you don't need any soldering, just connect interface to usb port (all this is very well explained in tutorial)

second: connect wires on your atmega like in tutorial and supply power to interface, open ponyprog choose first flash file (extension .hex) then choose eeprom file (also .hex extension) program it. Forget about .bin file, use arash dump with two files

Hi Thank you very much for your help.

you say use the tutorial to flash the ft232rl where is this tutorial i search for it but i do not found it.
I only have a Tutorial to flash the Atmega.

Furthermore when i connect the cable to the usb port windows 7 tell me unknown device and in the device manager
a exclamation point appears. You say the ft232rl become flasht with the USB port but windows do not recognise the cable correct. The flash will function?
