Hi mate
First of all that programmer it is forPIC MCU not for Atmega MCU
Now take a look in the Device Manager and see what is the VID/PID
if it is 0403/FA30 then you have to make some changes in the VCDS installed files of USB (in RT-USB.inf )
So check this first

Have someone a picture with the ATMEGA and wires. Where can I plug the interface to +12V on my computer ?

12V from an external power supply not from your computer mate
Go on web and sear5ch about dattasheet of Atmega 162 and you'll see then the wires from programmer must go on first 4 pins of Atmega MCU ( 1,2,3,4 )

Hi gays , i read the thread and is perfect .
But please if someone of you can tell me something about my problem whit vag com 11.11.0 chines clone - the problem is it work fine all good , but when i start to see live data ot ecu , or abs don't meter . the vag com crash and stop communication or stuck for 10 sec. or 5 every time is different and i don't from what .
I try whit different drivers , new fresh xp , and all usb ports - and is the same .
Please if someone know the answer or what i suppose to do let say .

First of all you ahve to see if your tool is it still registred or not\Then we will see if it is a hardwear issues or OS issue or computer issue or ECu issue
So please uninstall your VCDS softwear, then reboot
After this instl the VCDS softwear back and go to your car plug the interface to USB and to your car diagnostic connector and do a Tool TEST
Then go to about and see if it is Registred or Unregistred
Then please come back and tell us how it is and we will see then what\s your problem

Hi mate , thanks a lot for the help . Tomorrow i will test and report after that cause the car is in not in me at the moment .
I will make what you say and after that i will report .
My Vag com 11.11.0 is chines and i think hi don't need registration but i will see .
I will un install it , and after that go na install it again whit out to install or un install drivers - write , only the application VCDS 11.11.0 .

i have cable 12.10.3 version. With cable i get vcds 12.10.3 program without install.exe file but i must only copy and paste folder ROSS TECH to C: disk and create shortcut on desktop. I then connected cable to computer and tried to install drivers, but no drivers was found. That was on windows 7 32bit. The same thing i did on my windows xp, virtual machine, but there drivers was detected in ROSS TECH folder. I then installed them, but when i click test in vcds 12.10.3 program it says: PORT STATUS: ok, interface not found. Can someone help me? Regards

The led it is turned on?
Plug it into the car and try TEST again

Plug the interface to the USB
Go to Device Manager and check your VID/PID
It must be one of this VID_0403/PID_FA20 if the tool it is with FTDI BL/BM or
it has has to be VID_0403/PID_FA24 if it is with FTDI RL
If you have VID_0403/PID_FA30 then you have to do some modification in RT-USB.inf file if you want that your tool to be recognized by the VCDS softwear
If you have any other VID/PID then you need to reflash your Atmega
If you have one of that VID/PID then go to your car and plug the tool to the USB and to the OBD connector to your car and TEST again
Do this and lets see what will be next
FYI two pics with your both sides of your PCB will be very usefull to see what kind of tool you have

Google will help you :" Ponyprog error 24". (The program doesn't see atmega.)
1. Check connection atmega to the computer.
2. Check settings of the interface in the program of Poniprog.
3. Try to program atmega other programmator. (ISP-prog example).
4. Atmega it can be closed for programming on this ISP-interface.
