    Hi,

I have the VCDS adapter as seen on the attached pictures on my workbench.
The interface is connected to 12V (LED is green) and connected to USB (LED is red). In total orange .
The problem is that VCDS always reports the "Status: Not plugged into Car".
Until now I tried to resolder the Atmega and the other small parts like resistors and transistors and so on.
Also the voltage regulator works fine.

At the moment I have no Idea. I need some Help !

Intresting PCB. But the cable is, in fact, a China clone with "protect CI".
In most cases, Green light with that message=interface was "erased".

I did't bought this. I am also sure that it is a clone from China. I did't see any PCB like my one in this Thread.
Did you mean with "erased" that the software inside the Atmel was made unusable? Do I need to reflash the device?
Which instruction can I follow to fix the device?

    Best regard,
    Bernd

Err. appeared before updating? If yes, U8 or U9. If not, U8 or U9 or something else (is not an "usualy clone").
