I have VCDS 10.6 with ATMEGA162 and FT23BL onborad. However descriptions are telling about HW with FT232RL only. Will it work with FT232BL?

    Info for all "VCDS" newbies:
VCDS with FT BL or FT BM chips can work with original VCDS software (no moded) IF you have good dumps (for ATMEGA and FT).
VCDS with FT RL is chinese "low cost" versions and only can work with VCDS moded softwares (cracked or have "loader"), and
always some of VCDS functions no work good.
So, the difference is obvious between the two TYPE devices

    It's half true.

TRUE) For HW interfaces with BL or BM you can set any FTDI Chip ID, but it's extremely hard to find the dump and if used with internet connection, it's blocked in next version because ROSS will detect serial number used in two HW's.

FALSE) FTDI is only converter from USB to RS232 so HW with FTDI 232RL will work with good loader/crack and has no limitation compared to HW with BL/BM

Did you connect also +5V? The LED must blink or lit green or led before flashing.
