It's a 93c46, but how should I check it?
A quick google search shows options to desolder it and read it with a programmer.
Any options to read it direct on the board?
I have the USBasp and an USB-TTL-Converter but I'm not deep into those things (Needed the USB-TTL-Converter for recovering a Seagate Barracuda HDD and followed a tutorial).

3 methods:

1. read by MProg. If MProg = 0403/6001 ==> a. defective eeprom or FT232B or b. erased content of eeprom. try read by 2 or 3 method for see where is the problemm.
2. read directly on pcb with a external tool. Not always work. I preffer 3.
3. desolder and read/write. Attn, for WRITE correct content must have it, read from another good eeprom or from another source.

Why do you want one with BL? My BL is in an old cable from 2011, so I don't know if there are still any.

When you want a new go for the R, they don't cost much more than the crap ones. I got mine from obd2cartool.com (v17.1 - they have photos of the chips on their site).

I will get my 232BL and the 93C46 from this gadget http://s.aliexpress.com/VNvyER7N (will unsolder the chips).

Having some hard time with my cable. Bought recommended interface 17.1 from obd2cartool. Tested with original software and it worked. Then flashed atmega with new 17.1.3 firmware (flash, eeprom, fuses) and now vcds test gives "self test failed" error. I'm using elnec smartprog2 programmer and maybe there are some parameters that need changing? Any suggestions what to try next?

Reprogram again but pay attention to fuse settings and proper flash for your hw (44 or 46)

I have tested my RL tool and on 32bit system works perfect with kolimer 17.1.3, don't know why on 64bit it doesn't make long coding. I use same flash,eeprom and ept files.

Hello guys,

I am using this adapter from Aliexpress. Works with the official VCDS 17.1.3 but cannot do long coding (says coding accepted but it is not saved). I guess I cannot reprogram it since it does not seem to be atmega? Would using an older version or cracked version work?
