Or just connect your cable to the laptop and OBD II connectors. Then you'll have 12v power and GND.

I dont get any light i my cable when I connect to:
OBD2 PIN 16 to +12V
OBD2 PIN 4 to GND (minus), did also try pin 5
and get this when trying to program ""programmer not found"
is it maby a wrong cable I have

In the thred that I gave you, in link it is written that the VCDS 11.11.0 FTDI 232BL cable could not be updated. You have this cable. But I may be wrong.

I have 11.11 version as well FW1.84 (0x44) containing (ATMAG162+FTDI FT232BL) but it stops on step 6 reporting "Interface not found".
It has been mentioned on the forum that FTDI FT232BL is not support by this MOD.>

Try connect like this. If still not working then probably 78L05 is dead..

You're right. However, I did not have to do it. I seamlessly upgraded my interface from damaged 16.8.3 to 17.1.3, 17.8.0 and now 17.8.1.
I got green light both places, but still "Interface not found".

What exactly is telling your "Interface not found"?

Check and report your Hardware-ID (PID)
