I'm trying to upgre a couple of 0x44 cables 8.12 / 11.11 with firmware 1.10 and 1.81 but even if the led comes red the dwnload starts then it always fail when trying to load the eeprom content.
I'm doing something wrong?
Looks like it's not writing but fuses seems to be correct power supply is connected etc.
Do I have to cut something on the board?
Loader 6.1 but same results on V5.
Can anyone tell me how to proceed?

i think that FW is too old to download kolimers FW in your cable i guess yu shuld try write with external programmer

It would be easy with oscilloscope or Logic analyzer.. other test for FT232 would be to short TX and RX pins on FT232.. and try type in terminal when connected to virtual com port (also you have to make serial usb converter in that case)

test with VAGCOM_EEWrite from loader package v1 dated 5.08.17 . rename hw44eprom from v6.1 loader to eepromavr.bin . at least write ....

No way same results even with V1 and new bin.
I also tested some combinations but as the first load seems to be finished the led comes back green and eprom content loading fails.

I have used Atmel Studio v7.0.1652 with a Atmel-ICE programmer, all work fine now. What you need to know?

I have vag 113 / 11.11.3 cable but doesnt connect any longer.

Cable is atmega162

Showing as rosstech hex cable in windows but has exclamation mark?

Please point me in the right direction to what i need to fix my cable

Hi, have tried reinstalling drivers as the device is seen?.

I have tried re installing the drivers, using other drivers. This is a clone cable but used to work 100%. I think it only stopped working after i was upgraded to windows 10 last year.

Ive followed a couple of threads on how to reinstall the drivers or even change the VIDPID in the INF file but nothing. If i plug the cable into my car, the LED light goes green but cannot use the cable as its not seen as a port.

If i remember correctly, before the upgrade or before the cable stopped working it used to say "Ross tech usb interface" or something and then it changed? so is this just a driver error?
