Yes, it is.
Wow, they now offer it with 18.2 straight out of the box..
Hey Ross, where are the new Beta versions and new releases? MQB support still sucks hard, besides, soon 18.2 will be showing the ballon "software out of date".

I can calculate ABS module codings for:
* Continental/Teves MK60EC1 and MK60;
* TRW systems in Passat B6 / B7 / CC /Tiguan;
* MK100;
* Bosch ABS8.2, ABS9.0 and ESP8.2, ESP9.0;
* EBC 460 (UP!, Mii, Rapid, CitiGo, Fabia, Toledo, etc) New!
* ... and other VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda modules.I can assist with repairing \/CDS interfaces.
Or this one http://www.obd2cartool.com/vag-com-1...hipping-p-1473
Wich better?
This is French/German version. The previous one was English.
Hardware is identical on all of them so no matter which one you get (from the above shop), you can't go wrong.

But the second supports online updates (from official website) and the first no!
Come on man... That store uses Kolimer's stuff. It's just marketing. Only RT official supports updates online. Others don't, period.
When you're buying an interface, remember that you are buying only hardware.

Hi Folks
Anyone know if a 2008 polo 1.2 has CAN
I bought an interface Hex-v2 Dual K & Can but when connected to my polo says can not ready
I have used and updated opcom for my opel astra for years
I removed the radio and there are wires present for Can H & can L and I would have thought that a 2008 woul be can
I only bought this car on thursday not not up to speed on VW
On the CD that came with it there was a HW type app this shows the HW as
FW Version : 1.96
HW Version : 0x46
Identification : ROSS-USA
I have read the last 20 pages or so of this thread ( its a big thread )
So could anyone shed a little light on my question
Is it the interface or the car
The interface appears to work ( VCDS 17.8.1 ) on some modules but uses K line like my old astra
Thanks

Hello guys,
I've followed this topic but I couldn't find exact information about my problem, so I've decided to add a reply![]()
So, I've bought a VCDS 12.12 cable (chinese of course). I've installed the software in a virtual machine with Windows 7 32 bits with date 1 oct 2013 and no internet connection.
After the installation, I've plugged the cable and install the driver. I've opened the vcds shortcut from the desktop and went to Options menu to test the connection with the interface.
The test went succesful but... after the test the software went from "activated" to "deactivated/unregistered".
So, in this case I can only see one error from each module and also cannot use many functions.
What I've done wrong ? Or these are the limitations of this interface ?
Thank you
Open up the interface case, take pics of both PCB sides and post them here.
I suspect that such old 12.12 cable will have NEC chip inside it - in that case nothing can be done with it. I could only recommend a trusted store for quality hardware

I see that on one side the uC is atmega162 and on the other side (the one with the LED) is some uC from Microchip. I think is MCP2515 can controller
Thank you!

Thanks for that
I will go and have a look once the rain stops
Cheers
this is the interface by the way

amu92: although it looks a bit ugly, it's still ATmega162 based (no GAL/ATF chip). You can try to solder the missing pins and use USBASP (or other equivalent programmer) to flash to Kolimer's dumps.
However, to me this interface doesn't inspire too much trust to do serious things on a car so if I were you I'd buy another, quality one.

gerinemo: There is a member in this forum who is testing the exactly same interface as you have. At the first glance it looks like it works fine with 17.8.x software, even without any loader - just straight stock VCDS.

Thank you for your reply
I have just posted another piccy above of the outer casing of the interface
Paid €38 i think it was
There was a cd with a couple of versions of vcds the latest being 17.8.1 installer
The pc was connected to the interweb
The software installed fine on win 10 64 bit
the program runs ok and sees the interface no problem
it can connect to the car and see some modules tested it out reset the service indicator no problem
but in the status window I can see its using the K line
says can not ready
As suggested by Music above I will see if the pins are connected to the obd interface of the car later
