The MCP2515 is just the CAN-Controller, and the ATA6561 is the CAN-Transmitter, connected to the MCP. You surely have a atmega162 aswell, do you? Please take pictures of both sides of the pcb and post it.

There is no ATMEGA162, it seems an other clone chipset.

Anyway i sent it back and i found a cable168 with all chipsets (atmega162, ftdi, etc). It arrived this morning. I opened it and it is a real atmel mega162 (same this http://www.obdcartool.com.img.800cdn...8105556803.jpg).
This evening i will try it and i will be back with news.

Hello,

I would like to know if the interface in the pics can be upgraded using one of your tools, and if so, what would be the best approach.

It came as a chinese clone for VCDS 12.12 . It runs ok for 3-4 minutes using the VCDS version provided by chinese, after which it becomes unavailable for VCDS, although it looks just fine in 'Device Manager' (also event viewer does not report any disconnection actions regarding USB hub/devices). For it to become available again, i have to unplug it from both car and laptop/computer and wait around 2-5 minutes.

I tried using 'VAGCOM_HWType' to identify the interface, while powering it with 12 Vcc (method tested and functional with a 704 interface), but i get a 'Interface not found' message. The LED lights green while applying 12 Vcc

I also have identified the following components and parameters:

mcp2515, ftdi-1506C, mcp2551,atf16v8 ,atmega162, atmel1317, l7805cv

USB\VID_0403&PID_FA30&REV_0600



Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

you should try two things:

1. Reprogramm FTDI Chip with mprog and "ftdi_mprog_RLRQ.ept" from Loaderv6.3 and check if you get USB VID=0403 / PID=FA24
Try again with VAGCOM_HWType (12V / GND applied to the interface)

2. Check if 5V output is stable on L7805 after the interface is connected some minutes to 12V / GND

VAG works perfectly! Now i can coding without any problem and long coding helper works (all bits are now listed).

1. Done, now i got 'USB\VID_0403&PID_FA24\RT000001'. The 'VAGCOM_HWType' states :
FW Version : 1.92
HW Version : 0x46
Identification : ROSS-USA

2. I get a constant 4.99-5V for half an hour.

So now i need to get a usbasp, or is there another way to flash the 0x46 v1.96 firmware, as for my setup?

First you need to use usbasp and only then you can reflash by usb(using stuff from Kolimer.s zip).

Hi everyone. I followed the Kolimer's files on a VAG 157 (ATMEGA 162+ 16V8B+FT232RL)and now I got an error when trying to connect:

I used first tut. downloaded files , I connected the cable to the car (gree led on) and used VAGCOM_EEWrite.exe from files. afer this I copied rewuired files to installation folder. This was done.

How is seen cable in dev. manager?
Use Mprog to write ept file to FTDI .

But, you shoul start this disscusions as everyone did, share some pics with pcb.

You can try "VAGCOM_EEWriteLang.exe", if you are lucky, it will work. If not, you have to buy an USBSAP and brush up your soldering skills.

Also, the God Bless is only a free version thing. Commercial loader doesn't bless anything/anybody - once it's about commerce, there no God

There is a commercial loader?
Do you know where I can buy it? When I do adaptations on customers cars I would prefer that it looks like the original one if it's possible, if I can buy a commercial version I would
