    Tried viceversa too?
    Move components from bad to good and see if good remain good?

    You changed "important components", i undestand CAN 2 pcs ICs, Atmega, Qtz, maybe GAL...
    But the same issue can be generated by a "passive" component like resistor, capacitor OR...PCB? Or soldered wires? etc...

    Try measure voltages first on CAN Lines:
    CAN_H - GND = 2.5v
    CAN_L - GND = 2.5v

    measure resistance between CAN Lines(not powered cable):
    CAN_H - CAN_L= 120ohm

    Yes you can buy this 16.8 "Do it yourself" Interface with programming pins (Model: OBD649) and reflash. You need an USBasp programmer.
    Or use it with the supplied 16.8 crack Software.

    try 100 nF - it's not critical because it's between power supply and ground…..

    Maybe somebody could point me in the right direction with the folowing:

    I have a HW 44 cable with stc chip (now removed), the same as found on page 3 in the guide that comes with kolimer packages. (Hardware Type HW 0x44Identification : ATMega pins 34 and 35 must be connected to GAL chip.)

    Have tried to use the VAGCOM_EEWrite methode but didnt work, so i read almost this complete thread and comprehended that i also needed to cut the STS cip on line 9.
    Tried to do this but it failed and i removed the chip in completely.

    Question> Do i need to remove also a few other transistors/resistors as stated in this forum? Wich ones because for an example R51 isnt there only R50. Anyone familiar with this board?

    When connected to VCDS or VAGCOM_EEWrite.exe i get a no connection error. VCDS does recognice the cable like it is now but it says it's not connected to the car even though it is.

    Do i need to flash it with a usb tool? With one can i order best?

    Here is my board with the ptc already removed...

    where you removed STS chip try to clean better .....seems to make contact and try:
    plug in your cable into OBD socket
    open MProg3.5 ...click Device -- Scan.....Number of programmed devices=1.....Tools -- Read and Parse......File --Save(save backup)......File --Open and load ftdi_mprog_BMBL.ept.......Device -- Program

    Remove the excess solder.
    R50 must stay in place.
    I can calculate ABS module codings for:
    * Continental/Teves MK60EC1 and MK60;
    * TRW systems in Passat B6 / B7 / CC /Tiguan;
    * MK100
    ;
    * Bosch ABS8.2, ABS9.0 and ESP8.2, ESP9.0;
    * EBC 460 (UP!, Mii, Rapid, CitiGo, Fabia, Toledo, etc) New!
    *
    ... and other VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda modules.I can assist with repairing \/CDS interfaces.
