after again it told me to upgrade firmware
i have the same problem again with the 18.2

ok after i install 18.2 that came with the vcds
did install original loader that came in the cd...
i do the

EEwriteLang.exe upgrade
and after that I DIDNT flash the firmware
so im now in 18.2..thats works

but I cant upgrade to 18.9

if I do firmware upgrade that it comes up it will not working again..
so I do cancel

If bootloader is ok, eewrite will update by usb and at first test will ask you to update firm- totally ok.

After update you Test again and should work if you have the first release of the vcds18.9.0....if you have your instalers downloaded from official source will not work. Search back for available link to download .

the cable dont work in the car if you dont do the firmware upgrade, and if you do it i will have the same problem
dont know what else to do....
buying new cable...

when i power up the interface with 12 i have the same problem....

This is ok, because you only connected to 12v source, but no K or CAN.
Eewritelang flashes 1.95, after that you do port test and upgrade it to 1.96
And search for 18.9.0 english versions released before 2018-10-18 (it's also official but "older").

it is the firmware 1.96 that do the hole thing....

this is my steps...

1 uninstall vcds
2 install org vcds 18.2 cd with org bootloader
3 do this

EEwriteLang.exe upgrade
4 downloaded vcds 18.9 from ross site
did the test and same thing
interface not found

i have a 18.9.0 that's is 43.988kb in his folder

if i flash the firm from 1.95 to 1.96 i have the same problem again
and to run again the

EEwriteLang.exe upgrade i must first uninstall vcds 18.9 and return to org cd that came from the Chinese install his vcds and his boatloader and then i can run again the

EEwriteLang.exe upgrade...

the first thing you should do before getting your hands on the cable/reapirs/upgrades is read the Info.pdf file.
This will answer 90% of arising questions related to the above.

i have also read this tread many time , backwards...
i can still not find the solution...
i know that my cable is not bootloader locked so i don't need the USBASP method....

Y need vcds 18.9 with release date bevor 17.10.2018. All newer vcds will not work. Look some page before y will find it.

You should have received a PM from one of the members.

1. remove all existing V(D$ installations from your PC
2. Check your inbox here - one member should send you the installer - download and use it to install
3. Put the loader inside
4. Use EE_WriteLang tool to reflash the cable
5. Once flashed, further steps will be described in the info.pdf

If you are unable to figure it out on your own, ask assistance from team members, offer a donation, etc; I believe some of them might find time to give you a hand.

Am I screwed? I have a cheap HEX V2 which has worked fine (activated status) on 17.8.1 with VCDS Loader. Always had internet disconnected while using VCDS. Today I was about to use the HEX V2 again after about 4 months without using it, and all of a sudden at the "Test" button stage I get "interface not found", and when I check the "About" button I get "invalid/unauthorised" in red letters.
Have never gotten this before, I did exactly the same way as before, cant understand whats different now all of a sudden? I tried a couple of PC´s, but same on both.
Also the "About" button shows how many "codings changed / adaptions saved / DTC Clears been done, i´m not sure the numbers on those are accurate, but they doesn´t say 0.
The software also says in a yellow bubble that i´m using an old software, how does it know when i´m not connected to internet?

What can the problem be, am I screwed or is there anything I can do? I have no clue about VCDS, had only used it a few times, without any problems.

P.S can the VCDS software somehow brick the HEX V2 interface, if so shouldn't internet access be required for that?

Yes, VCDS software can brick your interface. It's what it was designed to do
It writes in EEPROM A1, A2, A3,.... An B1, ... Bn, etc to certain section instead of actual data.
