Do you think that chip contain only 2 transistors and 2-3 diodes?
If we both agree the answer is "NO" is ok.
The reason for this chip is quality, stability, etc., not china economy.

I didn't tell that transivers are bad or worst then transistors.

I am telling that VCDS device with transistors on K-line working good same as device with transivers.

But your choice is in what u want to believe
Ps.

Yes transivers are basicly made of transistors and some resistors and capacitors, same as microprocessors.
But you already should know that if you learned electronics in school .
If u are just self-tought hobbist then I can understand your attitude.

Can you share the name of that releable China store... with guarantee ...HQ devices...

That will be very big contribution to this topic.

Hello.

I'm sorry for interfering in your conversation, but i have a small question.
I have a D79F8513A chip inside so i can't update version, but VAGCOM_HWType shows

FW Version : 1.96
HW Version : 0x46
Identification : HEX-OEM
Bootloader : Disabled

I actually use VCDS 17.1.3, so can i download newest version and use VCDSLoader.exe without destruction of my cable?

I ordered the obd2cartool cable special that was posted here. Opted for the hex-v2 clone. https://www.obd2cartool.com/vip-link...82q53tp5lv2mc1
It arrived after 17 days in transit from China to Canada. Just want to say its a great product. Very cheap. USB cable is quite thick and feels like quality. Hardware looks good. I flashed the firmware with the included bootloader and it works without issues. A+

Beta 19.4.0
Data Version 20190411 / DS307.0
Beta 19.4 works only with Ross-Tech's current HEX-NET AND HEX-V2 interfaces.
It will not work with any of our older, legacy interfaces.
Support for legacy interfaces will be included again in the next Release versio

Hello,

I have 2 clone cables 12.12 and 16.8.4, both flashed fine to 1.96, I tryed vcds 7.1.3 and 8.9.1,(English and Dutch version) connections all ok with loader 7.2.

But if I try to read a module, I get 'No response from controller'. No matter what module I choose.

What can this be?
