VAG-COM/VCDS EVERYTHING

Can somebody push me in the correct direction...

I bought ebay cable .. it show successful test in VCDS, but none of the channel working (engine, radio, etc).. it only says "No response from controller"

I believe the chip inside is FT232R as I saw in the driver installation..

Please can someone advise me what to do? I have no experience in this.

So should I download 10.6 software from official RT web page, or somebody can PM me right software for my cable VCDS 10.6 with FT232BL?

NO m8 you maybe don't understand me.
You need an installer for VCDS 10.6.0 rvision 2010.06.30 but I'. m not sure that you have interface reprogrammed with dumps for 10.6 so if you use that sw you maybe need to reprogramm it.
Take care I can advise you to do anything becasue I'm "blind" but for sure dumps for 908 and a tutorial for reprogramming you find here.

I have exactly the same problem. Did you bought from RISUM TECH ???

No, I bought from different reseller, but all of them are to same, it could be to same seller using different name, the most important thing is that we all have to same problems with VCDS 10.6 from China.
So maybe somebody will find any solution for VCDS 10.6 with FT232BL inside, or which software we should use.

The solution for VCDS with ft232BL is here in this forum.
The problem is the dumps for 10.6.
The sw it is the original one VCDS 10.6.0 realise 2010.06.30.
But how could I told you yet the dumps for 10.6 aren't for free.
just 908 if you like.

BTW from what I just understand from you too guys is that you bought a tool with ft232BL inside and on the cd is an sw for tool with ft232RL inside.
Now you don't know with kind of dumps was Atmega programmed to know what sw to use.
Am I right?
My advise is to search about dumps on forum.

It would be great if there is ANY VAG COM software that will work with with these cables just as they are. Old or new sw, it doesn't mater.

There is but I can't say which version.
The best is to reprogramm the ftdi and Atmega with 908 dumps and use the real sw.
I can tell you to try VCDS 704 but don't blame me if it is erase your Atmega becasue if you don't use the right version this is the destiny.

Friend of mine had an interface 10.6 that worked well...fully registered, autoscan worked fine...everything perfect...changed labels....
My 10.6 interface didn't work...so we tried to fix mine....to make it as a clone of his..We were trying to use ftprog but with no success.....and somehow i have run the "Eeprom programmer_RTQX615IX.exe" downloaded i think form here... to see what it is and friend's cable was plugged in....and now i have only USB-serial converter (when i plug it into usb port)...I have obviously erased evrything because ftprog does not recognize it...??

What can i do now? How to make it Rosstech USB direct interface, cause friend if pretty angry now???

first use Xoom's UD fixer to create driver for usb serial converter, instal newly created drivers, after that you will be able to reprogram FTDI with FTprog, choose eeprom for ft232rl that's about it.

That is what i have done the first but with no success...Which VID and PID should i put....The ones that were before "erasing" 0403 and FA24???
Maybe im doing something totally wrong...After VID and PID input .inf files are created. Then after plugging USB, wizard pops up..the i choose folder with .inf files??? What is wrong?
