This old VCDS clone cable works with vehicles with k-line but on vehicles with CAN bus it can comunicate only with engine ecu

Problem is hardware limitation (no CAN) or software related?

Is a good cable, must work with K and CAN. If not, reflash. No CAN? Maybe defective one or bpth from MCP 2551/2515

Bootloader is disabled. You have to reflash chip with programmer and then update with latest version.

If I buy chinese HEX V2 with software 19.6.1 will it work with 20.4?
Is the cable different for these 2 versions or is it the same cable?

before reprogramming have you cut the STC chip's leg or desoldered the STC chip?

For now looks that codding/adaptation/parametrization will be not possible with any third party tool as VCDS (including HEX-V2 or HEX-NET).
