I have a chinese clone cable which uses VCDS Loader 1.12, is it safe to update to VCDS 20.4?

I have never updated this cable since I bought it and still use VCDS 17.

HI, CAN only will show OK when you connect adapter to car, without car - not OK!

I have read several pages of the thread, but many doubts
There are several HEX-NET cables...
1) which PCB cable model is suitable for working on MQB platforms?
2) If I find a HEX-NET cable with Atmega chip and connector to program it, can I program and use on MQB cars?
3) K@limer software and firmware of HEX-CAN cables is the same for HEX-NET?

Hi, I am new here, I tried going through all the pages but it's a bit hard for my short attention span. My questions are: can my 3rd party KKL VAG-COMcable that says it is for version 409.1 work with modern versions of VCDS with the Kolimer loader? I have opened it up and it unfortunately seems to have a CH340 chip, not an Atmega anything.

You can use VCDS-lite with that cable, not the full VCDS.
