Hello everyone.
I bought a HEX v2 cable with ATMEGA162 16V8 FT232RQ chip. I have it since the beginning of December but it has always given me problems from the first use.
The cable works for the first ten minutes (approximately) and then it turns off: the LEDs are off and communication with the VCDS is lost.
I have to turn off my car for a while to get the cable to work again, but then the same thing happens.
What is the problem and how can I fix it?

atmel vcds hex-v2 is fake , it is actually v1

Check the LM2940 voltage regulator. Should have 12v input and 5V output. Also check for cold solder joints.

Ok, without any basic knowledge in electrical engineering you should better buy a new interface.

was reading this forum about that real v2 clones...and got 1 question these v2 clones with STM32F405 can be blocked by rosstech? if they get blocked possible to reflash it with that loader and bring it back to life?

yeah, same question as @Defon asked, there will be any solution to revive the unit as Atmega one? @flyfvdi maybe knows more than selling them... ?
