KenshinPT(thanks to him) said that the function of destroyer doing STC.Are your cable alive or dead? My is alive(in work),but it's necessary to protect cable from destroying(It is mine opinion). We can talk about it via PM to avoid spaming this thread
I would like to desolder STC from my cable, but I'm not sure will be it right.Your picture says that may be right.

    1. btw, good picture of your cable! Clear, not dark, everything is readable and its put as attachment.. I hope so that others will take as example..

    2. STC chip impact the firmware - i'm not sure if is destroyer, but needs to be removed, just read this forum from beginning, its there setup how cable with STC chip should be fixed

That part about removing STC chip is not necessary true .I have a Super 812.4 dual k plus can cable from china.
I made a nice interface an have used ponyprog to reflash it,all i did was wire up the power an atmega162 chip,i didn't remove the STC chip at all or the transistor or resistor. It flashes perfect everytime using only 3.3v interface.I am presently running 1062 VCDS an working fine.
I didn't wire up the power to the input of the 5v regulator,i wired power onto the output pin of the regulator so that i could use the normal power supply from my programmer interface.

The STC chip looks to me as only reflashing the FTDI eeprom,so why remove it ??? I could only see traces going to the FTDI eeprom in my cable.

Just to say that not all the info here has to be followed exactly.Think about stuff yourself .This is an excellent site an alot of very good post here.

Another tip,i wired the atmega chip pins an power lines to unused pins on cable car connector end, to program i just plug it in,no need to take plastic cover off,i used pin 9,10,11,12 an pin 2 for power , ground existing pin 4. Check
wiring on car if you try this to be sure
that those pins aren't also connected
    on the car.

It's difficult understand what changes you made. How did you can wire up the power to the output of the 5v regulator?Hole chips of interface uses
5V,not 12.Is it temporally, only in the programming mode?
I understood why you wired up atmega chip pins and power lines to unused pins of cable car connector. For programming.
    But I misunderstood,are you regularly reprogramming atmega?Why?
Are your cable same like mine? Can you show the picture of it?(In position will be seen changes you made on)Thank you

Have the same problem to... 10.6.2 china cable...

when I open VCDS and I do an AUTOSCAN, it doesn't read all modules from car (VW Scirocco 2.0tdi 2010). And after autoscan when going on modules and changing the long coding, the "do it" button doesn't work.

If you start VCDS and go immediatly on module mode, change the long coding and press "DO IT" button say's Saved but the long coding entered is not saving at all

Other problem after the autoscan, if you try to do another one I get : Auto-Scan..."Function not supported by the gateway . Can someone Please Help with this issue ??
