Hi guys,
quick question, I have an old K-Line 409 Vag-Com lead with F232BM chip. Is there any way to upgrade firmare here to clone a VCDS 908 lead.
FYI I have cracked copy of Lite which is decent but lacking a lot of the new features that were added from v908. I have a Passat B5.5 without CAN interface, don't plan to upgrade car soon so doesn't even warrant buying updated clone cable..... unless it could allow access to full VCDS software features.
Any help would be appreciated!

This cable can't be updated. There isn't an atmega inside of it.

Hi! Everyone!
I have a problem with a cloned chineese vag 704.1.
I got it from a client for repairs.
I have reflashed atmega with 704.1 files.
The cable is now recognized by the computer and the vag com, but when I connect it to the car, i get no response from the controller.
When I click in the vag to connect to any controller the led on the cable is blinking, a couple of seconds later I get the error.

I think it is a hw error on some of the components. Please help to resolve the problem.

Hi! Everyone, I've managed to repair the cable. The problem was that the pin #7 (K-Line) was not connected to the board correctly. So no communiocation with the car was possible.

Today I have tried to update my cable, but something went wrong and the atmega hasn't been programmed correctly. During the flash verification ponyprog showed an error, and the programming process stoped.

Then, I tried again to reprogram the atmega, but now ponyprog shows "Error 24" and I'm unable to do it.

What is happening? I think that atmega is blank. Do I need to use a HVP programmer to write it?

My cable is working again . All I needed was to connect an external clock signal to pin 15 of Atmega162. I got this clock signal from a PIC. As the update process crashed, the fuses was wrong, and atmega didn't start.

Hello I have the same problem with my cable, it will be that you were able with doing this work in the pin 15 of the atmega.

I have the JED but need the bin for flashing with a programmer (with PLCC 20 Adapter)...

Hello I have the same problem with my cable, it will be that you were able with doing this work in the pin 15 of the atmega.
