HiGuys currently have a old VCDS Release 12.12 cable working fine but thinking of getting one with a current version can anyone recommend me one a place to get one and which one thanks!!

Lol. Take a good read at least multiple pages backwards. This is not spoonfeeding topic

Open your old cable and look for atmega chip, that could mean it is updatable to 2021. If unclear, post pictures and someone will tell.

it dosent have to be a cable that updates as i am not intrested in updating it as long as it works -just one withthe newest version which i think is 20... something these days from reading the posts here ,the 12.12 i got from eba...... way backk have is outdated thanks

Hey guys, I have a cable with version 17.1 but the bootloader is locked and don't want to risk it with soldering and stuff.

So I've been looking into buy a new one and saw this two on ali the difference between them is the chip
FT232RQ and FT232RL which I don't know what they do. But the seller seems to be reputable.

I have two vag's one from 2013 and one from 2016.

Do you think it's worth buying a more recent cable or keep the one I have ?
Because I remember when I used it on the 2016 to bleed the fuel system when changing the fuel filter it gave me an error that I can't remember now but I think it meant that is not supported because of the vcds version.

The V2 cables are a joke. All the same cables. Yet some update fine and some won't work with 21.3.

The old batch of v2 cables I had were perfect. The new ones are an utter Joke. 😂😂.
