Today I have tried to update my cable, but something went wrong and the atmega hasn't been programmed correctly. During the flash verification ponyprog showed an error, and the programming process stoped.

Then, I tried again to reprogram the atmega, but now ponyprog shows "Error 24" and I'm unable to do it.

What is happening? I think that atmega is blank. Do I need to use a HVP programmer to write it?

    Sorry for my english.
    Regards.

Other users told me it works well with that cable... even with firmware 1.81.

Do I need to run the patch everytime or just at the first time?
    Good luck

    WRONG INFO:
Maybe you already know the answer but you don't need to patch it everytime you open VCDS. xxxxx

But I only tested the cable without a car. I tested only plugged into a 12V power supply.

    Regards

My bad... You need to patch everytime you run VCDS

No, everytime you start vcds, you need to run the patcher... because this patchs are done on the program memory and not on the disk. If you run only vcds, you may end with a dead cable...
