OK, i understud.
In the archive with dumps for 11.2 exist vcds_ru[s].exe..maybe is only a loader..but for english too..

Hi,

i need some info please :-)

i have a chinese clone cable with 10.6.0 software in english...
chip is FT232RL
Software runs without problems so far.
But i want a german version.
After 12hours of reading this forum, i know i need another atmel dump, right ?
A friend of me owns a cable with german software, and version 10.6.4.
since i cant read the atmel chip without special hardware i want to ask you.

if he gives me his serial number, is it possible to add it to a atmel dump and flash it to my controller ? so that i can use his software version ?
do i need to flash another chip then the atmel ?

hope someone can help me.

Hi looking for upgrade files for my chinese 912 cable (FT232RL) so that it can work with VCDS 10.6.4 -- is that possible?

i think this question is answered a few times here in the forum. anyway i think you need to flash the atmel chip.. and maybe your ft232rl

It no longer works with any software. I tried 10.6.3 10.6.4 and 11.2. The cable is designed to work with 10.6.3. But i broke my cable while trying 10.6.4. I made a mistake.

please plug in the cable and check if the driver is loaded correctly by looking into the device manager.
perhaps your vid and pid has only be changed thats not a big problem at all...

let's start!

1. first have a look into device manager with the interface plugged into USB port and see if your interface it is still seen by the PC as it was in the past. Ross-Tech-bla-bla-bla.

2. check if your PC has a parallel port

3. ask a friend for soldering tool.

Ok. So i remove all old software + drivers. Fresh install vcds 10.63. In devicemanager it shows name: Ross-Tech HEX-USB. I am not sure if this is the correct name, i dont remember.

However in the past it would find the driver itself. Now it wont even reconise the driver if i select it manually in device manager. I navigate to RT-USB.inf, but then it gives error: Cannot find driver for the hardware in this location.

Hi,
I have the same problem with my new cable.
A chinesse clone who was working with 10.6.3.
Inside Ft232RL
The Product id has changed from FA24 to 6001.
After that I used Mprog and I modify from SerialUSB back to Ross-Tech HEX-USB with 0403 & FA24
But the cable still doesn't work, when the cable is plugged to computer only everything is Ok , when plugged to the car seems like interface isn't recognized as connected and the serial from the software is Unregistered/Unactivated but is the same as before.
I have a solder, I have a parralel port + a parralel cable.

Guys
When this tool isn't recognized and its driver is changed for very sure its licences was erased and you need to reprogramm its Atmega.
Don't dream to much
Ok if you use MProg you can reprogramm the FT232 to be recognized like a ross-tech driver VID_0403PID_FA20 but after that the interface will be recognized by the VCDS softwear and when you'll check if it Registred/Activated in the ABOT you'll see that it isn't.
So what you have to do is to reprogramm Atmega162 with flash and dumps for this kind of tools and much more it is necessary to reprogramm GAL or ATF too
