...
no you need Atmega162.
if you do not have support for it you can use the easy (cheap) way to reprogram the uC - parallel port and PonyProg.
you can find here schematic for parallel port and also PonyProg.

My DEAR,
The MAIN problems with clones is that the serial written into EEPROM of the Atmega162 (uC) will be part of blacklist for the new release of the sw.
this is the reason to use external programmer to reflash the uC.
if your tool is GENUINE~900$ (not CLONE~50$) - your tool will do automatically update without damage when you will use last release of the sw- it means your tool will work without any other work.
-if you developed something for clones - that is fine, I have no time to spend for such thighs, I would prefer the classic way, external programmer.
So if you have developed one tool for updating the fw and serial without external programmer please share with us.

...
so, you do not need to reprogram GAL device, you need to reprogram only the uC.
it is so easy for you - I would say that you will be more happy if you will do by your self than buying a new tool.
just do it!
if you need support - you will have it here, just ask.

Hi everybody ,
Could someone explain me how I can repair my clone with RL chip ( pics on page 125 ) using an UsbAsp cable.
Worked with 10.6.3 before
Thanks
I have some problems in upgrading my vcds interface. I programmed the atmega with a parallel programmer and I think that I haven`t set the fuses right.
When the interface is only in USB port there is no problem, but when I supply with 12V on PIN 4 - and PIN 16 +, it says Port status: OK ; Interface not found. The LED first is red, after turns green. It is a BL based interface.
Now the lock bits are not set, the BOOTRST=0 , BOOTSZ=10 , BODLEVEL= 111 , CKSEL= 1101 with SUT=00, CKOUT= 1. Are these allright?
Thank you!
marian check this out

Here it is the tutorial made by Aminebot.
Just use the VCDS 11.2 dumps shared by KenshinPT
(if always when someone wants to reprogrqamm his tool will ask again and again without reading this thread, this one will become bigger and bigger and in the end it will become unusefull )
