There is no real hex-v2 clones in mass production. You can only get fake v2. Choose one with more feedback.

I would avoid ali express. I never got a reply to my messages.

I got my fake www.obd2cartool.com. Not cheap but it came with bootloader and kollimer Loader which meant that I could update it via USB to 18.9.
I like the plugin in USB cable mechanism as the cable does not tangle is very good quality (if that it important to you).

I think they dont do the 18.2 now but have gone straight to 18.9.

I have vcds 12.12 with NEC chip, and also have older vcds 912 with atmel chip. Can I resolder atmega from vcds 912 to 12.12 and flash new firmware with loader v7
I have a problem that can't change long coding on steering module, I got message that coding accepted, but nothing change on 2010 passat b6....
