I have got an old hex interface and want to buy HEX-V2 with STM32F405 chip. Can you tell me if this one seems to be good - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003490376478.html ? Do I need a loader for English version of VCDS ?

yes, it seems good. With english, you need loader only for update firmware. For normal use, no need loader

Tested it. It works much better instead of old loader with 21.9 version and seems a little bit faster.
Finally it does not show anymore License Revoked.

do you remember what was the direct cause?
it seems that the chip stm32F405 may be corrupted

Hello! I buy from china HEX-V2 ST but when I run VCDS 21.9 it says on test firmware update required. When I try to open with loader the vcds it says "Illegal device. The device is locked!"

Same with this loader... If it matters the chip is STM32F415, not 405

STM32F415 does not support updates! you must use the VCDS version you bought your adapter with.

Hi, I've been reading through this community forum and its very large but informative. I like how everyone is open to using lower cost hardware options available on AliExpress as that is what I would like to do. I recently bought a 2018 Q7 and would like your advice which version chip do I need to get into all modules and do some long coding. My vehicle is a Canadian version and because Audi never reached any agreements with cellphone operators here, all the online tech is deactivated on my car. I don't even get traffic on the virtual cockpit. but with some coding I should be able to turn on the equivalent of what American cars have just over the boarder as our hardware is the same as their cars, just disabled.
Is there any benefit to me using the latest VCDS 22.3 and going with a 405 chip or will I get everything I need out of VCDS 20.4 and can therefore save some money and get the 415arm chip. Also my understanding is that the 415 with vcds 20.4 doesn't require any loader and won't brick if I leave my laptop on the Internet and my anti virus software will be happy. Is that all true?
