If no more possible connect,you may need unsolder atmega162 and reflash HVPP when lockbits and spien fuse are unchecked after bad flash...

Hi.

After I sucessfully updated my 704.1 cable to 908.0 (see post 453 and 584) I can not connect to Golf 6 Plus /2010. VCDS proposes me a few possible errors, such as "upgrade to newer version" and some other.

I can connect to my A4/2002 and Golf 5 with no problems and everything works fine.

Does anyone have any experience with Y2010 cars?

If you choose Autoscan this happens?

Normally u can choose single ecu ? Or u need 10.6 for new protocols...

in new cars , ODX / UDS is used , you need .rod file for this ECU.
you have to use higher version.

Problem solved, flashed again with new dump and everything back to work. But that was very strange because I didn't change anything, used to same dump to same programmer and to same configuration and some strange thing happened.
Can you tell me how to program in HVPP, do I have to build something like atmega doctor or can I use my STK 500 programmer?

You can use HVPP when your Atmega has blocked security bits.
If it dosen't you can use you programmer.

Reasons are not clear...

Sometimes depends on programmer,but i almost use USBASP programmer and same errors...

May depend on USB Voltage? Soft?

Sometimes i have to use Khazama to have good result...sometimes khazama autoprogramm,sometimes need write flash only after write eeprom than verify....

But sometimes dont work at all...so i take same flasher and Extremeburner software...write flash then eeprom...works...

Sometimes Extremeburner dont work...so i use khazama...

If you cannot read signature with Khazama...u get error on trying to read...check connections..if all fine it may possible SPIEN Fuse was unchecked to write and cannot be restored by ISP programmer.

In this case you need unsolder Atmega162 and program with external paralel programmer in High Voltage,this is HVPP

There are also existing Fuse restore programmers...they restore SPIEN Fuse without delete content of flash and eprom if Lockbits are NOT SET..if they are set it will delete complete content of atmeag and restore SPIEN Fuse.

After this Atmega can be flashed ISP with all normal usbasp or Pony prog DB25 flasher...

I decided order 805 cable for development,but i found out situation in the market is chanded: cables 805 is not available in the market.Some sellers saling cables 10.6 lower price than 912. 805 & 812 I did not see at all.This thread will be history soon.Sorry

Yes,u need unsoldert from pcb,as it works also as HVPP and need more than 13 Volt to work propperly,so u would damage components working on 3.5-5 volt on pcb.

Fuse resetter is HW+SW together in one smart tool,with 48pin header to accept mcu,you may need adapter for tqfp48 (atmega162).

They prefer sell 10.6 coz its more shit like older ones...

Best are 6xx-8xx interfaces.... i actually order just some 6xx
they are no more like first 6xx..have stc protection chip,but good old ftdi bl...not shitty rl

Which cable is best,easyest for upgrading to 908 version? I saw 704 is available...

704 is good to upgrade.

But hey... The question here is if the hardware is based on the FT232BL or not.

Sellers can downgrade a 10.6 Hardware with FT232RL to 704 dump.

So... You must ask the seller if that 704 is based on the FT232BL. Ask him to send you a high resolution photo from both sides of the PCB.
