Is there any software package that came with the cable? You should try that driver first.

No nothing was grey. Still I could adapt or code but the application will be refused at the final step.
Besides, it seems that with 19.6 the adaptation of central elec was grey even after entering the correct access code . I'm not sure (poor memory) but that might be the reason why I always use 18.9.

Hello! I have 19.6.2 if i want to connect to some modules, like 61.Batter regul., I've received "No response from controller" ...Is it the problem because is not a genuine version? Thank you

No. The reason is not whether the cable is "genuine" or not. It will always take some time for the software to be updated to support new modules of a new model car, so it's comon that some new modules are not supported by current software.
At the same time, the manufacturer started intentionally limit the compatibility of old cables to promote HEX-V2, so sometimes, old versin software supports a module but new version does not.
just try another version.

I am trying to update a friend's old cable (11.11), please see pics:

1) is this HW44 or HW46? I think it is HW46

2) VAGCOM_HWType.exe says interface not found, every time, although the interface works on the car. Any idea why?

3) Device Manager says "Rosstech Direct Interface" and VID:0403 and PID:FA30 but some tutorials say I should change FA to 20, how do I do that? They mention a software called "vidpidfix.exe", where can I find this?

4) JP1 is briged (a connection exists soldered on the board), should I desolder it?

5) The board already has the holes for programming interface, so am using those, is it alright if I connect the cable to a 12V supply and only use 4 wires from USBASP programmer to the board? So no VCC and no GND?

6) No ATF/GAL?

7) No L7805??

Your cable is a petard without GAL/ATF, without 7805.
For work FA24, K0l1m3r solution. Or, external programmer with "46" settings. Until you don't rewrite FA24 is possible K0l1m3r solution not work.

Don't bother with that cable. Like liviudiaconu said, that cable is a piece of junk, without gal/atf or 7805 stabilizer. Don't waste your time with it, tell your friend to buy another one.
