If there is enough room on the new drive to take all the data from your old one then give Acronis true image a try, i have heard good things about it and i will be using it to migrate my data to a new SSD when it arrives.

    Hi,

The best software you can find for this job is Macrium.
This software allow you to backup a bigger to smaller drive (if the usefull data doesn't oversize the target). --> your needs.
It allow you to dump a full HDD in a single file to save it to a server or NAS for example, for backup purpose.
It allow you to dig in the image file to recover a single file or folder, without restoring the full backup.
Once installed to windows, it allow you to generate a bootable USB key, who allow you to work on disk without their operating system on memory. Not corruption risk.
    And much more.

From all the other software I have ever tried, it's the best one.
It's shareware for personal use, no need to crack it.

If you want to skip the register step, use this direct URL :

    Cheers,

    Phil
