Hows about a review section?
This idea came about because me and the daddy pt zap have both recently ordered chinese android phones which promise a lot for a little money, i think in the current climate especially, that people would like to be made aware of other brands other than is sold in the high street stores especially when you consider the cheapness of stuff.

was thinking aboot this exact thing the other day, prob not its own forum atm but could start a thread in general and sticky it and see how it goes, title could be some at like "members reviews on recent purchases" prob not that but you get my drift, and would include everything techy moblies, pooters, tabs etc etc etc

2. Price with shipping if any
3. Delivery method (free, ems, dhl etc)
4. Date ordered
5. Date delivered

Daddy ordered the jiayu g3. Which amazingly isn't a clone. While i ordered a galaxy note clone for my daughter

A think its a great idea, although all of us may not be tech savy some are more than others in different areas.
A would class my knowledge of PC repair not bad as i repair them all day so you get to know a lot about Windows and other software, however my knowledge on tablets is poor and a don't have a scoobie about satellite but a would trust members judgement and be interested in learning from their reviews..

Mainstream tech sites are rapidly becoming a joke and are less and less impartial and can't cover some subjects that DK can.
A think it might need a full section dedicated to it as it covers a helluva lot of subjects, a thread would probably end up quite muddled up and difficult to navigate but its maybe a good way to start and see how it goes.
A like the idea and a think it would add a lot to DK..

Why not add it to down in the bargain basement section and rename it to shopping section.

It might get a bit more interest for that section

it would be ok to have a review section where as, the poster posts a pic of the item, or a link to reviews., and its specifications e.t.c . then others could add their experiences.

not sure how we could do it.

maybe aready in their own forums ( example iphone or android or pc ) these are examles.

or maybe a whole new forum called reviews ? then sub forums to gadgets/electrical/toys/ etc, etc , etc ?

would people use it or would they just use google or the web site selling the goods ?

I would be more concerned about attracting sellers though.

I think they would, as you know, we have a huge following on dk, I certainly would trust a dk review more than a site selling the goods as they have a vested interest in good reviews.

You have given 2 good ways of doing it and am really struggling to decide which is the best.
A review section kinda edges it a little for me, people want advice on products as much as finding solutions to problems and they know that DK members are pretty clued up.
If i Googled "Windows RT Surface review" am pretty sure DK would pop up in that search result.
Mods and Admin will be pushed a little harder a think as fanboys, trolls and general idiots love to knock people's work regardless of how good it is.
A half decent review can take some time in checking facts, providing links and pictures, so it would be interesting to see if DK members were up for it.

We could do it along the lines of the recipe section, where you have separate areas for the bullet points i covered and an area for the main review. How's about a poll to see if people want it?
