Scheduled Maintenance

Summary of Maintenance:

Your dedicated server is scheduled to be moved to a different section of our datacenter. Best practice and procedures will be employed throughout the maintenance and we would like to ensure that all relevant clients are aware of the activity. This necessary maintenance cannot be postponed.


Customer Impact:

During this maintenance we will be shutting down your server and physically moving it to a new location within the datacenter. We will then power the server back on and ensure all services start properly. Total downtime should be no more than 20-30 minutes. The maintenance will occur during one of these scheduled time periods:

Tuesday, December 21, 20:00-23:59 CST
Wednesday, December 22, 20:00-22:00 CST

No effort will be required on your part, and no aspect of your service will change.

Can I suggest that the server maintenance notice be put on the 'General Chat' section as judging by the amount of thank you's perhaps not many visit Feedback and suggestions?

Preventative Datacenter Power Maintenance (Tuesday 01/25/2011 18:00-22:00 CST (-05:00 GMT))

Summary of Maintenance:
The network switch that provides network connectivity to your server will temporarily lose power while our datacenter provider performs maintenance to the power curcuit the network switch is connected to. This maintenance is essential to maintain reliable power to your server. Best practice and procedures will be employed throughout the maintenance and we would like to ensure that all relevant clients are aware of the activity.

Customer Impact:
During this maintenance you will notice a brief interruption while the network switch loses power and reboots. This interruption should last no longer than five minutes, at which point your server will regain connectivity. All data and customer services will remain active but the network will be unreachable during this time.

This is a well scary thread, should it not have some kind of warning before viewing.

Like what happens if the server takes like SIX mins to re-boot not five, that's like a WHOLE minute of no DK.

That would be as bad as been banned - if not worse.

Pleased only read this thread AFTER the event.

Guessing the DK server is 110 Volts and in America?
