Does NOT WORK:damnmate:, checked by myself on chinese cloned VAG908 and VAG912 cables, HW ver 1.81.

Software installs fine, drivers also, but when cable IS PLUGGED INTO CAR, software says: "Port found, ... not plugged into the car!".!!!!

So, what we really need here is FTDI and probably ATMEGA dump from VAG (VCDS) 10.06 chinese cable!
If someone has it, please share it!!???

All 908-912 china came with the same problem "Port found, ... not plugged into the car!".!!!!

WAHT IS THE PROBLEM FROM THIS CABLES!
THE 5Volts REGULATOR "china" CHANGE it and all problems are gone.

But put a good one not one that give 4.5->4.8Volts, i use all from Toshiba or ST this gives 5.02 Volts and have 1.5Ah not with this china stus thay give max 1.1Ah.

VCDS is really not expensive.... $ 350 you became a very good tool...thats often better and above all...much faster than some originals tools...for example VAS5052A....
I have VAS5052A....and VAS PC V18...but with VCDS...I really works mostly...because...simply too use...and very fast
And....the whole updates do not cost anything...and support are world class !!!

I think that your interface could work fully without any errors only with version 704, try that, in that case there is no need to reprogram anything but if version 704 is not enough for you then you should search for solution by Xoom, he posted here some pics and explanation what should be done with hardware like yours.

My friend you are totally right, but one time, maybe two years ago i bought original ross-tech, the price was 425$ + customs+VAT= around 350 Euro, i used it 3-4 months then i wanted to change it for something else. I offered it for sale for same price in newspapers, on-line marketing, called everyone i know, it took me 6 months to get rid off it, why is that? Because everybody says clone can work most things they need, it is not money issue, it's just state of mind. I think it will never change.

Today i am doing testing of my 2 cables

Cable 1: vag 908.1 (get vagcom time out.)
Cable 2: vag 912. (now working )

I connected 12V to pin 8 of vag 912 and GND to pin 4 and 5 (pc source power - yellow for 12V and black for GND) and the leds has been power up (Red and green).

So, i did think about use MPROG for change some values to ftdibus.inf (driver file) vid: 0403 and pid: FA24.

Well i did an test in vag 912 and work OK.


Now, i going to test VAG 908.1 with the same procedure.

Vag com 908 gets TIME OUT message when i open vag 908.1/912, with 704.1 i get not pluggd into car.

Thanks to everybody for everything do it.

2 cables doesnt work ok, i can make the test ok (if the cable wants) but when i want check some module, i gets error msg.

I'm afraid you will need to reprogram your atmega. I had the same with soft version 704. It was the time I've never heard about digital kaos. Then I found some useful information about programing atmegas on this forum and I have 8xx cable. Nowadays I use genuine becouse of law. It costs about 1700zl equals about 580$. I konw it is quite much even in Poland. But I need something genuine ;)

This 10.6 version does not work correctly .

The most important function that was added in 10.6 version, is "Basic Setting" on UDS control modules , and this function require the 1.83 firmware to work properly , but the 10.6 sold by chinese sellers work with the 1.81 firmware , it mean that this version is same as 908 or 912.

In the mean time I figure it out what was the problem that the sw becomed unregistred.
I shuted down the sw and I run it again and in this moment the sw it was unregistred.
You have to do this procedure everytime you run the softwear.

Every time you run the softwear you need to do that.

China clone 10.6 cable work ok for new year vehicles. this is why you only can look bit for cars >2007.

And now most clone 10.6 cables are not strong. So do not change the software. You said you wrote on OEM-dir...., so you can not use its new functions.

So, I think if you buy 10.6 cables, do not change it. Just use it. If you want use 908 functions, why did you buy 10.6 cable? (908 is cheaper than 10.6)

Tell me what is about this 000 in meas block?
I tested this in an Seat 2001 1.6 and it shows something.
I didn't tried many thing becasue I haven't so much time but I think, at first look, there's not bugs, yet.
I have this tool with VagCom 10.6 cracked version.

Mate i have 10.6.0 soft (no crack whatsoever) works everything, long coding, labels, basic settings etc., on TDI PD engines there is no 000 meas. block, you just need proper dump
