Yes you can do it
Just reflash your tool
Reflash the FTDI and then the Atmega
Dumps you can find item here for free.
If it a Ft232RL base tool you need then to unsolder something and make a littel change of PCB

P.S. - You haven't time to read but you know we aren't medium to know what kind of tool you have.
And here we help each other but with suggetion the rest you must do by yourself

I installed the software everything okay the usb driver was installed too but when I want to start vcds 10.6 it says: Time out!

If you wanna mean that a cable with internet problems you'll find just to the roos-tech.com
But you have to lear to manage a clone

RSIBIZA mention his cable with the chip unsolder and using
ross tech software w/o the need of cracks or anything else. So Im looking for the cable he has but hasnt respond to my private msg.

Come on mate.
There's no VCDS clone which cannot have this porblems. I mean internet or new upgrade softwears problems
But maybe he rsibiza said that there is something to block internet softwear connection which can stop softwera upgrading. This is somethingelse.
And I wont belive that he will repaly to.

Vcds will not work with k+can commander cable.

hi i have a vag-com can bus cable super 812.4 dual-k & can with software 805.1 but cant seem to get the cable to work with the software is it possible if some one could help me though team viewer i was not able to do any off the prosuders to get it working so if some one can help me please.

Actually there are lot of clones,which are working 0%

But the fine thing is they cost only 7 usd shipping includet..pls dont aspect anyting from these tools...

i have vcds lite 1.0. can i read the millage for vag car??
i dont now this??
my license is not full,is possible to have one vcds lite sw full version??

I m not sure,i know for sure it work with version vcds after 805....and vcds lite is only K-Line...so principally..should be possible...

Hello everybody!

I have read the all thread, but i have some basic questions.
How can i see firmware version of my cable? I can't find never :(
If i think good, i can change firmware with soldering. I can't change with any simple programmer, than Mprog.
My cable is not responding when i connect to car. I think i need firmware change, but i can't desoldering.
It has FT232BM chip.

1. Run the VCDS
2. Go to OPTION
3. Do a TEST
In the message you'll see the firmwear of your interface

P.S. The interface must be plugget into the car or powered up ( 12V )

Well, that's great. Check your cable. If it has Atmega 162 you may be able to update it to the latest version. Read this topic.

Hi, i have a VAG106 clone cable which was working well until last month, but i lost the Disc and format my laptop.
I tried to instal VCDS 10.6.0 and its drivers but when i connect the cable and TEST in VCDS, i obtain "NOT PLUGGED INTO CAR"
Cable connect only to OBD, led green
Cable connect OBD and USB, led red

I think the problem is a not correct drivers or software, someone have the correct one?

Hello,
i have a vag106 cable ant used it a long time ago, but lost the cd that came with it, so dont have the software that came with it, and i presume it is a clone cable, and think this version will work with it.
I will give it a try and them send some feedback of my experience here.
